Your local branch is a good place to start your family history research.  Each branch has a collection of resources:

Strathroy library has an extensive local history collection for Middlesex County with a special emphasis on the Strathroy area.

Community Access Project - Services

It also provided the public with the opportunity to receive free Internet and computer training in many different subject areas. Student trainers are no longer required as much since many people are now familiar with the workings of the Internet. Middlesex County got its first Community Access Project site at the Glencoe Library in the southwest of the county. There are 15 official CAP sites at branch libraries throughout the county.


ILLO & Requests - Services - illo

The network is a partnership between the participating public libraries, Ontario Library Service-North and Southern Ontario Library Service with support from the Ministry of Culture. When a patron has searched the collection of Middlesex County Library, and does not find what they are looking for, they can request books and photocopies on Interlibrary Loan.


Book Club Bags - Services

10 copies of one title, Large Print edition if available, DVD if available, audiobook links, author biography, and information about the book. You can plan a whole year of meetings confident in the fact that the books will be available when you want them. Our new Book Club Bags will provide multiple copies of books that your club can reserve ahead of time. Everything you need for your book club meeting—all in one bag.

The books you see in one branch library are only a small part of the Middlesex County Library collection. Note - Some materials (including DVDs) can not be requested. The Submit Hold window appears.

Employment Resource Centres are located within the countyto provide services and information to people seeking employment, career training, and skills upgrading. We also offer large print items, books on tape and we would be happy to help assist you with your library needs. Public and academic libraries across the country, the Ontario Archives, and Library and Archives Canada.
