WHAT IS GRASS CYCLING?
Grass cycling is really very simple and all it means is that the clipping are not removed from the lawn when the grass is cut. Grass that is cut properly should have no problem with thatch build up from clippings being left. Every year the clippings are left the benefit for the lawn and the soil increases as does the amount of nutrients the clippings provide. Remember to never remove more than 1/3 of the leaf blade and leaving clippings should not be a problem. Clippings can provide the following nutrients to your lawn over the course of one year per 1000 square feet of lawn:
* 5.3 lb of nitrogen,
* 1.8 lb of phosphorous,
* 4.8 lb of potassium
That free fertilizer so recycle your clippings.
