Gluten free food is uniquely made and therefore needs the proper care and attention to be at its best when you are ready to eat. Everything at No More Belly Aching has been made and tested to be freezer friendly. As strange as that may sound to those who do not normally eat gluten free, those who do appreciate both, a fresh product and one that can be kept in the freezer for later enjoyment. **We recommend that you use freezer bags to preserve freshness**
Cookies: Thaws perfectly at room temperature. They can also be stored in a sealed container on the counter.
Tarts: Will thaw nicely at room temperature. If you would like to avoid freezing them then it is suggested you store them in the fridge to prolong the firmness of the pastry. At room temperature it tends to soften over time, but many enjoy this delicateness too.
Brownies: Are very tasty straight from the freezer. This gives them a firm and chewy texture, as keeping them in the fridge will too. If you are looking for something that will melt in your mouth then store at room temperature in a sealed container- if they last that long.
Cakes/Cupcakes: Can be frozen or stored in the fridge. Recommended to store at room temperature prior to serving until cake and icing have softened up a bit.
Tortes: **** Absolutely keep refrigerated at all times, only taking out when you are ready to serve****
Breads: Our breads will keep for 2-4 days in a plastic bag on the counter. However, to preserve freshness the bread should be kept in a freezer bag in the freezer if you can not use it up that quickly. From the freezer you can take out what you need, wrap it in a paper towel and warm it in the microwave, or wrap it in parchment paper and warm it in the toaster oven or oven. When it is warmed through its softness and springiness will be restored. If you notice that your bread is drying out just take a fine mist spray bottle of clean drinkable water and give each side a sprits and warm following the above instructions.
Muffins: Our favorite way to enjoy these is to warm them either in the microwave or toaster oven. They taste like they just came out of the oven. They will also keep in a sealed container on the counter.
Pies: Will thaw nicely at room temperature. Take out of the plastic bag prior to thawing. If you would like to avoid freezing them then it is suggested you store them in the fridge to prolong the firmness of the pastry. At room temperature it tends to soften over time, but many enjoy this delicateness too! **** Please keep the chocolate silk pie in the fridge at all times taking out only when you are ready to serve****
