The permitting and approvals process is highly regulated and requires strict conformance to requirements put in place by various levels of government. Malroz has assisted many clients in the preparation of applications, and in gaining permits and approvals for a variety of undertakings.
Compliance monitoring is a common condition of facility approvals. Malroz conducts a number of compliance monitoring programs for our clients to provide them with the peace of mind that licensing requirements are being properly undertaken on a timely basis. Whether it is air, groundwater, surface water or hazardous materials, Malroz has the experience to help navigate through the regulatory maze.
Malroz has successfully completed applications for landfill expansion on behalf of our clients. We currently undertake compliance monitoring for numerous sites to ensure that conditions set out in the Certificate of Approvals are met.
Drinking Water Supply
We have assisted municipalities and communal well owners with technical support documents and applications for drinking water supply Certificates of Approval. We have completed numerous successful applications for Permits to Take Water for new water supplies.
Malroz was retained to undertake field testing and prepare an application for a novel technology for a sewage works approval on behalf of a client who operated a seasonal resort in Eastern Ontario. On our client’s behalf we successfully negotiated an approval for this technology supported by phased implementation and periodic testing. This approach was successful in maintaining an economically viable business under increasing regulatory constraints.
Hazardous Alteration and Destruction of Fish Habitat
Malroz successfully negotiated multi-agency approvals to allow our client to complete in-water (river/lake) construction for a test site to establish new methods for passive water treatment.
Malroz has completed applications for licensing air emissions for private sector companies’ ongoing facility operations. We were also retained by the provincial government to conduct air emissions modeling and prepare an application for an emergency power supply to a large office structure.
Surface water, groundwater, indoor air, stack and hazardous materials sampling for investigations and compliance monitoring have been undertaken by Malroz.
