Couples Massages

At Serendipity we offer something most places aren't able to. We offer couples massages with Registered Massage therapists! Which means that you can have a nice romantic massage with your partner and still have insurance pay for it!!

Hot Stone Massage

A hot stone massage is a massage that uses flat, heated rocks placed strategically on key points of the body. The stones have a high heat retention and the deep moist heat works into the muscles causing them to relax. This allows the therapist to apply a deeper, more precise pressure if desired. Hot stone massage can also be used for the sole purpose of relaxation!

Indian Head Massage

The art of Indian head massage is an Ayurvedic form of relaxation and healing, mainly used by holistic healthcare professionals, to combat daily stress and tension.  This technique addresses the back, head, neck, scalp and face using a variety of techniques and pressure points throughout the upper body.  Each treatment is generally 45 minutes in length. This massage is very relaxing and ideal for those with tension in the head, neck and shoulders to help the muscles relax and revive the brain.  Removal of clothing is not required.

Acupuncture is one of the main forms of treatment in traditional Chinese medicine. It involves the use of thin needles that are inserted in the body at very specific points. This process is believed to adjust and alter the body's energy flow into healthier patterns, and is used to treat a wide variety of illnesses and health conditions.  At Serendipity our Acupuncture Practitioner uses a combination of Medical Contemporary Acupuncture and Chinese Acupuncture to help our clients achieve their goals.

Reflexology is the practice of applying pressure to the feet, hands, head and ears utilizing specific thumb, finger and hand techniques with or without the use of oil, cream or lotion based on a system of zones and reflex areas that reflect an image of the body on the feet, hands, head or ears with a premise that such work effects a physical change in the body.  Creates relaxation * Reduces pain * Increases Blood Flow * Aids in Post-Operative Recovery * Enhances Medical Care * Impacts Physiological Measures (BP, Cholesterol) * Mental Health * Compliments Cancer Care * Eases Pregnancy *

* Ameliorates health concerns- Research shows that reflexology work helps individuals of all ages with some 78 health concerns ranging from aggressive behavior Êin children to urinary concerns of the elderly.

The benefits of reflexology have to do with the reduction of stress. Because the feet and hands help set the tension level for the rest of the body, they are an easy way to interrupt the stress signal and reset homeostasis, the body's equilibrium.

Reflexology is complementary to standard medical care and should not be a replacement to medical intervention.

Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic is a healing discipline firmly grounded in science, philosophy and art.  Although its main focus is the relationship between the spine and the nervous system that runs through it, chiropractic is concerned with the care of the entire body.
Chiropractors use various diagnostic methods, including x-rays, infrared thermography, and other neurological testing to discover the state of your health and body function.  We pay particular attention to your spine and nervous system, as this is the system that controls and influences your overall health.
Chiropractic is based on 4 premises:
1. Your body is a self-healing organism.  You were born to be healthy and are designed to heal yourself.
2. Your nervous system (your brain, spinal cord and nerves) is the master controlling and healing system of your body.  As long as your brain and spinal cord are sending life to every cell, tissue and organ of your body, you should have the very best health you have ever had in your life-this is known as normal.
3. If something interferes with the life flowing from your brain to spinal cord, your body will malfunction; if malfunction goes uncorrected, disease and sickness will manifest.
4. Finally, chiropractors correct this interference.  Gentle, effective adjustments are given with intent to correct this interference so your body will heal itself and function at 100%.

Bowen Therapy

Bowen Therapy was developed Australia by the late Tom Bowen (1916-1982). It is a system of moves that challenges soft tissue, releases its congestion and stimulates energy flow, it relieves pain and inflammation, and is an overall tonic to the body's innate ability to heal itself. Its positive effects on nerve, muscle and connective tissue provides lasting relief from pain and misalignment in the simplest and most effective manner. For more than 40 years it has been used successfully to treat tens of thousands of people suffering from a huge variety of ailments. Many saying it is the most effective, long lasting and relaxing treatment they have ever experienced. Bowen Therapy is safe to use on anyone, from the newborn to the elderly, as there are no vigorous manipulations employed in the treatment. Yet, despite the gentleness of its application, Bowen Therapy achieves profound, substantial, rapid and lasting relief from a wide spectrum of conditions. Among the benefits it achieves in the process are the reduction of physical, emotional and mental stress; improvement in joint mobility, circulation of lymphatic and venous fluids and assimilation of nutrients; the elimination of toxins. In place of the illness and discomfort experienced with the conditions listed above, Bowen introduces a state of ease and well being.

Mind Body Bowen

Mind Body Bowen addresses the links between the emotional and physical well-being of a client. The practitioner treats body 'memories', releasing tensions and retained stresses to help balance and promote healing to both mind and body. It is a more intensive form of Bowen therapy that has great results. It is particularly suited to clients whose pain or fatigue is linked to stress and emotional issues. Sessions usually last longer than a usual Bowen Therapy session,  usually about 1.5 hours. The same gentle techniques are used in the Mind and Body Bowen. The main difference is that the practitioner asks the client to think about what is happening to them following each Bowen move. What does it feel like and what areas of the body does the treatment affect the most? By thinking about each Bowen move, and articulating their feelings, the client is able to release both emotional and physical tension, leading to a much faster healing process. Having the Mind and Body involvement is a more powerful form of Bowen treatment that can help overcome a range of problems. Long-term injuries are often linked to emotional experiences, and Mind Body Bowen is particularly effective for anyone who has suffered traumatic experiences including bereavement, abuse or depression.

Nutritional Services

A nutritionist is an alternative health care practitioner who works with a person's diet to help heal or prevent disease. There are a variety of reasons that someone would want to see a nutritionist. If you have been recently diagnosed with a weight related condition such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure or type 2 diabetes, you may want to consult a nutritionist in order to determine the best course of action to prevent complications. It would also be a good idea to get advice if your doctor has expressed a concern that you may be developing one of these conditions. A nutritionist can help if you are experiencing general health concerns such as poor immunity or fatigue. Serious diseases, such as cancer and heart disease, can also be improved by consulting a nutritionist. When meeting with a Nutritionist be prepared that the nutritionist will ask you to be an active participant in your healing through daily logs, surveys, questionnaires etc. By involving you in the healing process the nutritionist can help you to bring health into your life and keep it there.
