Transportation Engineering involves the planning, design, construction, maintenance, and operations of transportation facilities and infrastructure. Our expertise encompasses traffic and parking operations, transportation planning and road/highway design for all types and levels of development, recognizing that transportation is critical for each. The safe and efficient movement of vehicles, whether it is to/from a single development site, or through an entire municipality, is the basis for our engineered solutions.
Our staff are fully versed in Ministry of Transportation (MTO), Transportation Association of Canada (TAC), and county and municipal transportation standards and guidelines, in addition to the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment process which guides many solutions.
In support of new gravel pits, quarries, water bottling facilities and similar industrial uses, CCTA has worked with the site developers, local government and the general public to establish appropriate truck haul routes. Analyses have identified the volume of truck traffic to be generated and the potential impacts on traffic operations, road conditions, and safety. Improvements to ensure haul routes can adequately and safely accommodate truck traffic have been identified, including road widenings, shoulder widenings, resurfacing, and intersection improvements.
