Wall Cladding

There are different types of sheet steel wall assemblies ranging from the simplest single sheet walls found in agricultural buildings, to sophisticated composite panel assemblies. The wide variety of cladding profiles, paint systems and colours provides for complete architectural expression. Sheet steel can also be integrated with other building materials for added variety. Sheet steel wall assemblies are a durable and economical solution. The cavity can be sized to accommodate as much thermal insulation as required while maintaining the integrity of the building enclosure.

Insulated Metal Panels

Designed to creatively answer diverse wall and roof applications, these wall panels are made up of controlled polyisocyanurate foam insulation sandwiched between prefinished sheet steel exterior and interior sheets. The combination of polyurethane foam and steel facings results in a light, attractive and easy-to-install structural panel with exceptional insulating characteristics. Panels are also available with mineral wool insulation that is suited to buildings that require fire rated walls.

Roofing & Siding | CSSBI

Farm buildings are going beyond the utilitarian look of the past and incorporating the variety of steel products and colours into very attractive building packages. Many of these installations are still in existence, although some are quite rusty, attesting to the longevity of sheet steel. Pre-painted sheet steel is now the standard roofing and siding product used on agricultural buildings across North America.

Lightweight Steel Framing | CSSBI

Lightweight steel framing is an increasing popular choice in low to medium rise structures such as schools, shopping malls, box stores, stacked row houses, hotels, assisted care residencies and office buildings. Although "Steel" may conjure up images of a heavy, cumbersome material for construction, Lightweight Steel Framing from coated sheet steel products is just the opposite.

Steel Building Systems | CSSBI

The building system utilizes rigid frames or columns and beams as the primary structural elements; alternatively, it may be a "self-framing" type, using the cladding as the primary load bearing roof and/or wall elements in addition to functioning as a weather barrier.

Roof Assemblies | CSSBI

Structural type steel roof systems may be compared to traditional low slope roof membrane systems because they are designed to carry roof loads, resist moisture infiltration on low-slope applications, and can be installed without a solid sheathing substrate. The term "standing seam" is used to refer to many kinds of roofing panels that have a raised vertical seam, which ensures that the panel seams are above the water level.

Steel deck is 38 mm or 76 mm deep, 750 to 900 mm wide, fluted steel sheets used in the construction of a roof as the supporting structural member on which the built-up roofing system is placed. The in-plane strength of the deck can also be utilized as a steel deck diaphragm to act as the horizontal bracing for the structure, often eliminating the need for discrete bracing.

Roof Deck & Composite Floor Deck

Steel deck is 38 mm or 76 mm deep, 750 to 900 mm wide, fluted steel sheets used in the construction of a roof as the supporting structural member on which the built-up roofing system is placed. What distinguishes composite deck from plain deck (floor or roof) is the composite structural action developed between the steel deck and a concrete slab.
