InfinityICF block has cylindrical cores both vertical and horizontal left hollow in the molding process. Once the blocks are stacked and the reinforcement bar placed, concrete is poured into the wall, which once hard, provides a steel reinforced concrete, post and beam grid-wall that remains encapsulated in EPS.
Better than a solid poured concrete wall our Post and Beam Grid-wall is made up of six inch diameter cores of concrete that sit bother vertically as posts on 9.6 inch centers and horizontally as beams on 12 inch centers. These cores have steel reinforcement bar placed as deemed necessary by the engineering requirements provided, (for residential use typically #4 bar is placed in every other vertical post and in every horizontal beam). Between each post and beam are octagonal shaped spaces or voids that are 5 1/4 inches high and 4 inches wide, which remain filled with EPS. The ability to place the reinforcement bar at a 45 degree angle in the areas of the wall, where stress or loading are likely to increase, can be of great benefit. The structure obtained using the Infinity Structures ICF building system will easily withstand violent storms, and can be installed to meet any seismic load requirements of your locale.
