Implant Restoration

By: Freeman Dental  09-12-2011

Implants are titanium screws that are placed into the bone to replace one or more missing teeth. Once the implant has had sufficient healing time to fuse with the bone, it is ready for restoration, or loading. Implants can be used to replace one missing tooth, to bridge a larger gap of missing teeth, or can be used to anchor a denture. At Freeman Dental we work in partnership with a Periodontist who places the implant(s), which when ready, we restore with an artificial tooth that is strong, secure and virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth.

Bonded Fillings

Amalgam, or silver filling material, is a strong, long-lasting filling material where esthetics are not of concern. At Freeman Dental we offer the two basic types of filling materials: composite and amalgam. Composite is a white resin filling material that works great for esthetic areas. It can also be used for back teeth when appropriate.

Crowns

Crowns are a type of dental restoration which, when cemented into place, fully cover that portion of a tooth which lies at and above the gum line. Crowns are used to rebuild broken or decayed teeth, to strengthen teeth, and as a means by which to enhance the cosmetic appearance of teeth. Fillings/inlays/onlays are dental restorations that are used to fill in or cover over a portion of the tooth.
