Pike's Peak

Roger Matthews gave it his all in his A2 VW Jetta attacking Pike Peak during the international hill climb.    He was having a good run until he encountered motor failure as he neared the top of the mountain.    Roger's reply, “I guess I have to do it again next year - as I'm not great with failure.  We did have a great time overall.”

Team Amico is on Fire..

Team Amico on fire.   Led by Doug, the crew of Justin, Mike, Neo (data), Wing Man (aero), team principle/chef Dino as well a various additional support crew they have it all together as a team.   Their support of driver Dean has reached a peak this year.   This weekend at Mosport was disappointing to their hungry goals with 2nd place finishes in both races.   They were the fastest.   Leading for 3/4 of race one he lost the lead to Richard Boake and jumped on a mistake by Richard at Moss Corner but the extra traction of the 4wd from the Subaru saved his lead.

Race 2 Sunday, starting in finish positions from race one, saw Dean push Richard all the way, Richard's tires must have been square from the lockups defending his position from the faster Amico BMW.   Dean in his BMW came in second but took fastest lap.    Boake leading the in Super Touring is followed closely by Fantin as they head to Honda Indy Toronto in 2 weeks.

The Amico team is ready to take that first win, Dean definitely is at the top of his game and if Richard make a single mistake it will be done.

HotBits is proud to be provide technical support and suspension for Amico's challenge for the title.

2011 Rocky Mountain Rally

The 2nd round in the Canadian Rally Championship is in the books.  Congratulation to our customers, Warren Haywood/Jennifer Daly in Tonik Motorsports Subaru taking 1st PGT and 5th overall, Eric Grochowski/Keith Morison in their Golf taking 1st Group2 and 10th overall.    Poor conditions with lots of mud and snow added the the challenges running in this years rally.

2011 Canadian Touring Car Championship

Round 1 of the Canadian Touring Car Championship at Mosport International Raceway is complete.   Amico racing BMW driven by Dean Fantin, running on HotBits suspension finished 3rd in the first race. With a good start took the lead at corner 1, at corner 4 the heavens opened up with heavy rain. Dean was overtaken by the Subaru of Richard Boake in these slick conditions and managed to keep in touch with the Subaru while maintaining a good gap to 3rd. Midway through the race, a severe crash brought out the safety car which bunched the field up and allowed Arek Wojciechowski's BMW to jump past at the restart. A great controlled drive to 3rd in these conditions, congratulation Dean.

Race 2 was a well done 4th place after a self confessed error cost Dean 2nd, charging back he closed the gap but ran out of time to make any more forward.

We look forward to the next race weekend in Quebec at Mirabel ICAR circuit.
