Electronic Data Destruction
Absolute Destruction has the capability of on-site computer hard drive and electronic media device destruction, including compact discs, magnetic tapes, microfiche, credit cards, audio and video tapes.
The absolute destruction and the proper disposal (and recycling) of old hard drives is a must for all companies, government institutions and small businesses. Throwing them away, selling them after degaussing, or just leaving them to collect dust is unacceptable. Their mis-handling of hard drives opens up an array of security breaches from getting into the wrong hands to accidentally throwing them away. The liabilities are enormous - federal and provincial laws require the destruction of sensitive information prior to disposal and the repercussions in customer confidence and legal compliance can be severe.
Absolute Destruction & Recycling Corp.'s ultra secure on-site hard drive ‘crusher' ensures that your confidential information remains confidential by destroying it permanently. After being crushed the data can never be recovered again.
It is much simpler and faster to use the Absolute Destruction & Recycling Corp.'s system than it is to reformat a disk or use a degausser. In addition, it has been proven that degaussers don't always work. Today's disks have such strong shielding that the magnetic oersteds (Oe) used to destroy the data achieve a level of field intensity to only destroy the read-write arm. Therefore, it's often possible to remove the platters, put them in new disk housing with a new read-write arm, and read the data that you thought you had destroyed. Unfortunately, due to these new disk shielding technologies, degaussers have become unreliable.
Absolute Destruction & Recycling Corp. guarantees that upon destruction, all of the data on your device will no longer be recoverable. We will then recycle and dispose of the crushed device in an environmentally friendly way. Upon completion, our customer service representative will supply you with a "Certificate of Destruction" and "Guarantee of Recycling".
