Here’s a little colour story and idea board I’ve got on the go for a fabulous young girl and her new bedroom that we’re working on. Just like her, it’s bright and cheery, so I thought I’d leave you with this as I head out for a long weekend. Happy Easter everyone! I hope you have a lovely, relaxing weekend filled with lots of love and chocolate :) See you back here on Monday.

It’s easy for me to get excited about colour schemes and this image has me dreaming of far off places. The textures alone are enough to get my heart beating faster, not to mention the architecture. Oh, and then there’s this outfit. I love the patterned strapless top with the raspberry skirt, joined together by a lovely belt. It feels cheery, moody and somewhat mysterious. Starfruit came to mind when I saw the petals or leaves on the ground, the perfect combination of yellow and green. Cinnamon with it’s wooden hues and coffee to add the dark flavour. I am loving it!

First of all let’s start with these sunglasses. They are officially on my wish list. I am also loving the colour scheme. Tortoise never goes out of style and these glasses have a hint of the Tiffany’s blue scattered throughout the frame.
This colour scheme works really well here in Alberta. It’s warm and soothing for our winter months and can easily be updated with the fresh blue/teal hues in the summer. Regardless of your style preference this group of colours an go modern, country, traditional or even a combination of all three!

I could easily see myself wearing that dress while occupying any of these spaces!
How about you?
Colour inspirations can come from anywhere and anything and yes, I know it’s spring but I thought I would give you a look into a current project as we move from the renovation to decoration. We’ve recently been shopping for furniture, area rug and accent pillow fabrics to complete the family room. Inspired by the rich colours of nature and the fact that their home is surrounded by beautiful scenery, we’re bringing the outside in. Cherry cabinetry, rock fireplace, warm hardwood floors, and a brick wall gave us our base, and to that we add ivory, paprika, charcoal and mustard as an accent. So here is our colour story and inspiration. Below: a quick collage of some of the samples we are working with and a few images of where it all began. I’ll share the room with you once completed so you can see how the story ends.
Another piece of the puzzle! Today the strike off arrived for this clients custom order area rug and I’m so excited! I quickly put it together the fabric samples so I could see how it all looked. As you can see from the images above it’s all starting to come together nicely!
