Mandibular Widening by Distraction Osteogenesis A stable non-extraction technique

Custom distraction appliances
Using an innovative application of the Superscrew, Distrax™ takes leading edge technology out of research and into your practice. The original design, smaller size, and superior fit will give you increased patient acceptance and better results.

Distrax appliances are affordable
Distrax™ are an affordable alternative to other
distraction appliances on the market. If price has been an issue in recommending distraction for your patients, consider this: A Distrax™ midline appliance can be custom-made for as little as $200.00.

Custom made for each patient
You take the impression, x-rays, and complete the prescription form. Distrax™ appliances are then custom- made by certified dental technicians. Each Distrax™ comes complete – with no crowns to fit, and no extra clasps, wrenches, screws, or kits to purchase. The result? Less chairside time for the orthodontist and minimal adjustments for the oral surgeon.

Bone – Borne for more parallel regenerate
Only hybrid distraction appliances (tooth-borne and bone-borne) produce a parallel regenerate. With the Distrax’s™ unique design, the basal bone is distracted proportionate to the alveolar bone. Thus, it is expected that long-term stability will be greater. The unique features of the Distrax™ provide easy and simple patient use,as well as, precision monitoring by the orthodontist.

Hygiene is greatly improved because the RPE can be completely removed at each appointment for a thorough teeth and appliance cleaning. Wrap the ligature wire around the distal end of the buccal tube on the side of the appliance that doesn’t slide in the headgear tube.

The Tremont Cantilever Wrap Around Appliance

A slight squeeze with a three prong plier to the cantilever arm can adjust the labial bow up or down to accommodate any sliding tendency on the incisors. The labial bow can be pinched in at the embrasure between the first and second molars in the few instances when additional retention is needed. The Tremont Cantilever Wrap Around Appliance is ideal for maxillary retention with a well finished occlusion that includes the second molars.

After rapid palatal expansion is completed, the posterior bite plane becomes the platform from which numerous treatment objectives can be achieved. Pink wax & vertically placed band material positioned within the posterior bite planes are all part of the unique debonding mechanism. Posterior bite planes vertically unload the TMJ and free up the occlusion for faster, more patient friendly treatment.

Bite forks are available in two incisor notch sizes, one producing a 2mm inter incisal distance (Not recommended for the TAP) and the other being 5mm which is the best for a TAP.
