Saturday 22 October 2011 – the Schooner FARFARER was just underway from New Bedford for Charleston. Aboard were Hannah Joudrey, Chris Swindells and Frank Blair, Captain. It is about 750 NM to Charleston. We finally have a great day. The skies have cleared and the wind is light from the west.

Wednesday 12 October 2011 – At about 1500, the Schooner FARFARER arrived in the port of New Bedford, Massachusetts. Those of you who remember that Nantucket was the plan, may wonder why we are here. Surely one whaling port isn’t like another.

10 October 2011 – At noon, the Schooner FARFARER was just off Rose Point, exiting Lunenburg Sound, making 8.5 knots under sail for Nantucket. We departed the dock at Lunenburg more or less on schedule at 1100. The skies are clear, the weather is warm and the wind is a nice 15 knots from the West.

19 September 2011 – I hope you all are used to a delay between landing and the report. The Schooner FARFARER is safe in Lunenburg, being well cared for by Covey Island. Tighten up the fore mast and paint the bottom, plus a dozen little fixes.

The next project is having fun at the September Classic this weekend in Lunenburg. It is well worth it to reproduce the invitation, see below.

There is so much to do before she will be ready for the water, but it is exciting to be working on details like stain for the Black Walnut or which computer rather than how many engines. We then had a great meeting with Sandy McMillian of North Sails to discuss all the crucial details of how to get the most out of the rig. Right forward of the Crew Mess is the Ships Office on the starboard side and cabin heater and wet locker on port.
