Mardol 48-D
A cationic blend of oxidized marine and synthetic oils.  Recommended as topping oil, for paste release and where added grain lubrication is needed.  As stuffing oil, it enhances the dark contrasts in pull-up leathers that are normally achieved by oiling off.  Mardol 48-D can carry up to twice its weight in our wax-type products; it is an excellent co-product for use with Mardol 22-T, 33-T, 55-T
Activity-100%, Charge-cationic, pH 4.0
For Wet Stuffing: 4-8% Mardol 48-D
For Pull-up Leathers: 6% Mardol 48-D with 6% Mardol 22-T

Mardol SO-50
An anionic blend of sulfated animal oils, petroleum compounds, natural wool grease and surfactants.  A versatile wet-end compound for making stuffed and semi-stuffed leathers such as boot, shoe upper, softy type and pull-up.  An excellent co-product for use with our wax blends such as Mardol 22-T, 33-T and 55-T.  The natural wool grease gives a rich nourished grain surface, plus the additional surfactants in the products result in a cleaner level surface due to uniform take-up.
Activity-88%, Combined SO3-2.0%, pH 6.9
For Semi-Stuffed Leathers: 5-10% Mardol SO-50
For Stuffed Leathers: 5% Mardol SO-50 with 5% Mardol 22-TMardol 22-T
A blend of synthetic waxes and greases used in both hot and wet leather stuffing applications.  Due to the synthetic components, this product remains inert within the leather and is not prone to the problems that can occur from the breakdown of similar natural based products.  We offer a full range of wax products with various melting points and compositions.
Activity-100%, Melting Point-125º F
For Hot Stuffing Leathers: 10% Mardol 22-% with 2% 30º Neatsfoot OilMardan 20
A highly sulfated blend of marine and synthetic oils. Used for making very soft leathers with a rather dry feel.  As a general purpose fatliquor, it can be formulated with many other types of oils to produce upholstery leathers, milled leathers, shoe upper, soft deerskin, goatskin, pigskin and calf.  It produces leathers with a clean and level grain surface.  An excellent oil to use in production of milled leathers with a uniform pattern.  It can be used as a prefat in tanning and retanning formulas.
Activity-70%, Combined SO3-5.0%, pH 6.6
For Glovey Milled Leathers: 12% Mardan 20 with 6% Mardol 1388-NP
For Bag Type Leathers: 3% Mardan 20 with 5% Mardol 1498-TMardol 55
A sulfated blend of marine and petroleum oils. It is an economical fatliquor which can be used alone or in combination with other types of oils to make industrial work glove, work boot, handsewn and milled leathers.
Activity-70%, Combined SO3-2.0%, pH 7.0
For Industrial Work Gloves: 12-20% Mardol 55Mardol PF
Based on synthetic sulfited ester and high molecular weight hydrocarbons.  This product is an anionic, electrolyte-stable fatliquor for use in the pickle, tannage, retannage and in the main fatliquor.  It is also suitable for skins and furs; due to its low affinity for the hair it does not make greasy hair or fur.  The electrolyte stability of the product gives it good penetrating and emulsifying powers, excellent dye-ability and wetting back properties.  The product gives exceptional softness.
Activity-50%, Charge-anionic, pH 7.0
Pickle/Tan: recommended 0.5%-3%, run for 45 minutes.
Retan: recommended 5-7% depending on type of leather
Fatliquor: when mixed with other fatliquors it improves emulsion stability and penetration, resulting in better bath exhaustion. For buffed and Nubuck leathers addition to the main fatliquor can improve buffing properties.Mardol SRF
Based on acrylic polymers and fatliquors enables the consolidation of the retan and fatliquor steps.  The product contains both the retan (syntans & resins) and fatliquor components for use as a single step treatment.  It can be used on blue stock as a stand alone product, or in combination with other acrylic resins and fatliquors, to produce a firm tight grain.  The product produces a very uniform dyed surface.
Activity-40%, Charge-cationic, pH 4.0-6.0Mardol 1498-T
An alkaline mayonnaise fatliquor formed by the saponification of a blend of fatty acids, animal oils and an emulsion stabilizer.  It is used where good grain lubrication is desired; this product will give tight, flat grain characteristics and good stand up.  An excellent product or co-product when used on handsewn, corrected, nubuck, calf, lambskin and vegetable tanned leathers.
Activity-42%, Charge-anionic, pH 9.5
For Handsewn, Corrected, or Veg-Tanned Leathers: 4-6% Mardol 1498-T with 2-3% Mardol 783

Mardol 1500
An anionic/non-ionic blend of high quality non-oxidizing natural and synthetic oils.  Medium penetration and surface lubrication gives added grain strength and a slightly draggy surface feel.  It imparts excellent softness and will continually nourish the grain surface to eliminate cracking or drying out.  A good oil for deerskin where softness and a rich surface feel are important.
Activity-92%, Combined SO3-1.5%, pH 7.0
For Deerskin Leather: 12-18% Mardol 1500

Mardol BS 030
A bisulfited oxidized marine oil.  Used for leathers such as shoe upper, garment, bag, upholstery and milled leathers where a high degree of softness and a rich nourished feel is required.  It is non-oxidizing in nature with good stability to acids and electrolytes.
Activity-80%, pH 6.5%Mardol 1583
A cationic blend of emulsified oxidized marine, synthetic oils and waxes. This ready to use pull-up/stuffing wax enhances the dark contrast in pull-up leather usually achieved by oiling off.  Based on oxidized natural and synthetic components, this product remains inert within the leather and is not prone to breakdown associated with natural based products.
Activity-100%, pH 4.0
For Pull-up Leathers: 10-14% Mardol 1583Mardol 1156-CF
A cationic blend of natural oils, petroleum waxes and synthetic grease.  Used as a release agent for pasted and vacuum-dried leathers and those requiring a waxy handle. In large quantities, it can be used as a wet stuffing component to produce leathers with a pull-up effect.
Activity-50%, pH 4.0General Tips for Fatliquor Emulsion Preparation
Fatliquors are designed to form oil in water emulsions, so add the oil to the water, not the water to the oil, to eliminate the possibility of an inverted emulsion.  An inverted emulsion is not stable and may rapidly deposit on the surface giving greasy leather.
The volume of water should be 4 times the volume of oil used.  Typically the temperature of the water should be 140º F (60º C), but may differ depending on type of product being emulsified.  The temperature should be controlled closely to obtain consistent fatliquor results.  Some fatliquors may contain coupling agents, which are volatile at elevated temperatures and reduce the stability of the emulsion.
When preparing an emulsion, prepare it just prior to addition.  Do not let the emulsion stand for a long period of time as this can reduce the stability.
When using several fatliquors and/or raw oils & waxes, mix the components together prior to emulsifying.  Adding another fatliquor or raw oil into a prepared emulsion can decrease the emulsion stability.
