Universalist religious services take place every Sunday at 10.30 a.m. at our
new location, 545 Sandy Point Road, in the north end of Saint John, New
Brunswick. After the service, everyone is invited to stay for conversation and refreshments. Follow the DIRECTIONS link above for finding this location.
Worship services are planned by a worship committee, and are often led by members of the congregation or the community. Our minister is typically with us for a lengthened weekend once a month, during which she is busy every waking moment, including leadership of the Sunday Service. Ministers from other centres may also be invited to lead our services. We hope to provide all our members and friends with a time to reflect, to learn, and to share in a supportive and open church community. Follow the Newsletter link above for further details on upcoming services.
Wedding services can be provided in ways that respect and combine different religious traditions. In Canada our denomination performed its first same-sex union ceremony back in 1975. Canadian Unitarian Universalists have long been lobbying to promote recognition that the sincere and loving religious views of different individuals in society ALL need to be respected, and to be given equal recognition under the law. We feel that living in a free society means it is not appropriate to impose the religious views of any group on others. We believe in the goodness of people and find it appropriate to promote a loving, committed orientation toward life however we can.
