Fall 2009 Professional Development Day

You’ve seen the Power Points, now see the trees!

On Thursday, October 9th join us for a field trip to the Green River site where we will have the opportunity to visit recently harvested and standing blocks with a guided tour. We will start in the Edmundston Regional DNR Office at 9:00 a.m. with a brief indoor session and then travel out to the blocks. A 15 passenger van is booked; if there are more participants additional transport can be arranged.

Bring your own lunch, and dress for any weather. There is no cost for the day.

Forestry In The News

How can government expect woodlot owners that cannot sell their forest products to start contributing more money to silviculture, “questioned New Brunswick Federation of Woodlot Owners President Andrew Clark. This directly contributes to the sustainability and future of the forest industry in New Brunswick and creates much needed employment in rural communities,” stated Clark.


Right To Practice

With this change in hand, their membership in attendance, which included representatives from two large Crown License holders and one Marketing Board, offered support, through their vote of presenting the document to their membership via a mail-in vote. As you may recall we held an Emergency Meeting of the NBFTA on November 14, 2009 at which time the Membership voted to support Right to Practice Legislation.
