All systems can be applied with a different degree of Anti-slip finishes based on your needs.

Most epoxies today are 100 % solid and solvent-free. The best epoxies are 2 component, and can be applied at different thickness depending on your work environment conditions. Epoxy coatings are economical flooring system. They offer aesthetics, durability, chemical & wear resistance surfaces.

Where to Use

  • Institutional building
  • Recreational complexes
  • Storage and logistic areas
  • Wet and dry processing areas
  • Light to medium duty manufacturing areas
  • Theaters
  • Food service areas
  • Commercial and industrial facilities
  • Clean rooms and sanitary areas

  • Good Mechanical and chemical Resistance
  • Glossy aesthetic finish
  • Durable, impermeable and seamless
  • Excellent adhesion
  • Easily cleaned and maintained
  • Does not support growth of bacteria or fungus

Polyurethanes are usually applied as a top coat for epoxy. It provides a hard yet flexible film with out-standing resistance to weathering, abrasion and yellowing. Polyurethanes provide a high gloss finish and increase the lighting in a building. Polyurethanes are also available in satin finish. Available in decorative colours.

Where to Use

  • Used as a protective coating for surfaces exposed to weather, chemical, high abrasion and corrosive environments
  • Use where a high gloss and colour retention is needed

  • High resistance to abrasion and yellowing
  • Good chemical resistance such as alkaline, solvents and moderate strength acids
  • Easy Maintenance
  • Hard yet flexible film
  • Excellent mar properties
  • High gloss and color retention on exterior surfaces
  • Ultraviolet light resistance coat
  • Good stain resistance
  • Impermeable

Vinyl Esters

Vinyl ester systems have an excellent resistance to organic and inorganic acid solutions and many aliphatic solvents. They can be installed with integral glass flake or fiberglass mat for improved thermal shock and heat resistance. Their curing time is faster than epoxies but they cost more. Vinyl esters is good for trenches, pits, tanks, secondary containment & Floors.

Where to Use

  • Corrosive environments
  • Tanks
  • Plants floors
  • Machine bases
  • Containment Structures

  • Outstanding chemical resistance.
  • Can be used on concrete or steel.
  • Quick turn around

Methyl Methacrylate (MMA)

If you can't afford down time, Methyl Methacrylate is your choice. MMA systems dry within minutes, and are fully cured and ready for traffic in just a few hours after application! Often, a floor can be 100% completed overnight; including all surface preparation and the installation of multiple MMA coats. MMA floors are chemical resistant, especially to acids. They are very popular in kitchens, food processing plants, sports stadiums, and manufacturing facilities. The system may be installed outdoors. For repairs, methyl methacrylate mortars and elastomeric coatings are available.

Where to Use

  • Kitchens
  • Food processing plants
  • Sports stadiums
  • Manufacturing facilities
  • and more

  • Fast Cure, full strength after 1 hour
  • Resistant to chemical attack
  • Use over wide temperature range, even below freezing
  • Indoor & Outdoor application

Anti-Static Flooring System (ESD)

Anti-Static flooring system is usually used where flammable material or electronic equipment is used. The system is applied with a epoxy primer, electrodes made of copper are installed on the edge and between the control joints to insure the conductivity, conductive coat is installed followed by a chemical resistant top coat.

Where to Use

  • In area where there is a danger of ignition due to explosive mixtures of gas, vapor, spray or fine dust in the air.
  • In areas where explosive substances are kept.
  • As a coating for concrete in secondary containment tanks.
  • As a protective coating for concrete in solvent rooms, battery rooms and storage rooms.
  • Electronic Equipment
  • Circuit board assembly areas
  • Electronic computer areas
  • Electronics manufacturing areas

  • Electrically conductive/anti-static
  • Outstanding chemical resistance
  • High mechanical resistance
  • Excellent abrasion resistance
  • Impervious

Waterproofing Membranes

Waterproofing Membranes are made with an elastomeric polyurethane and is used to create a water tight flooring system. They can be used with an epoxy top coat and can be applied under a broadcast or a trowel down system. Waterproof membranes are ideal for areas such as decks, mechanical rooms, shower rooms or any other area where a water tight flooring system is required. Waterproofing membranes are also used in Parking Garages and can withstand severe vehicular traffic.

Where to Use

  • Parking Garages
  • Bridges
  • Decks
  • Mechanical Rooms
  • Shower Rooms
  • Any Areas Where a Water-tight Flooring System is Required

  • Odour and solvent free
  • Bridges post application cracks up to 1.5mm (1/16")
  • Remains elastomeric and resilient during extreme temperature changes
  • High Strength
  • Available for vertical application

Other products and services from East Coast Coatings

Surface Preparation | East Coast Coatings

We use technologically advanced dust-free shot blast equipment, dust-free grinders, scarifiers and scrubbers to prepare your substrate to receive your new flooring system. Shot blasting is a method used on concrete and steel surfaces which prepares the surface for the application of a coating, seamless floor or any type of overlays.

Sealers, Liquid Hardners & Dustproofers

Sodium silicate based sealers are a propietary blend of Silconate polymers which penetrate concrete surfaces providing an increase in abrasion resistance and a reduction in the surface absorption of liquids. Silane/Siloxane sealers are a deep penetrating liquid designed to protect concrete structures, decks, and surfaces agianst the adverse effects of deicing salts, moisture, weathering and freeze damage.

Decorative Floors | East Coast Coatings

Designers and builders are drawn to stained concrete because of the unique outcome that can be achieved combining color and application techniques on concrete slabs. Versatile application where we incorporate vinyl flake chips and epoxy to create a decorative floor finish that is easy to clean and is resistant to chemicals.

Control/Expansion Joint Sealants | East Coast Coatings

Semi-rigid epoxy joint fillers are a two component, self-leveling sealant for load bearing saw cuts or preformed control joints. This system supports the joint edges and reduces spalling of the edges caused by wheel traffic. Semi-rigid to formula that allows for limited temperature and humidity movement of concrete. Concrete construction & control joints. Crack filler repair for old floors.

Services | East Coast Coatings

Our crews and equipment are fully mobile, allowing us to service you anywhere in Atlantic Canada. Benefit from our outstanding service and long list of comprehensive extras.

Seamless Floors | East Coast Coatings

This troweled system produces an aesthetic and sealed seamless floor composed of multi-colored hard granular aggregates and is finished with a transparent topcoat which is available in gloss. A seamless Floor with a integral cove base is by far, the preferred method for ease of maintenance of floor and highly recommended by environmental health code.

Concrete Repair & Restoration | East Coast Coatings

Fiber-reinforced repair mortars are one component, shrinkage-compensated, superplasticising admixture enhanced with silica fume to offer high strength and superior performance for structural concrete repair. Polyurethanes injection systems are a two component, 100% solid, flexible polyurethane grout used to firmly bond to concrete surface, and will displace and stop water infiltrations.
