Rapid-Setting Mortar

Rapid mortars are one component, early strength gaining, cementitious, patching mortar for vertical and horizontal concrete repair.

Where to Use

  • Use on grade, above and below grade on concrete
  • Highway overlays and repairs
  • Structural repair material for concrete roadways, parking structures, bridges, dams and ramps
  • Full depth patching repairs

  • Very rapid hardening
  • Allows application of an epoxy coating within 4-6 hours
  • Freeze/thaw resistant
  • Not gypsum based
  • Open to foot traffic in 45 mins, to vehicle traffic in 1 hour [23°C (73°F)]

Fiber-Reinforced Repair Mortar

Fiber-reinforced repair mortars are one component, shrinkage-compensated, superplasticising admixture enhanced with silica fume to offer high strength and superior performance for structural concrete repair.

Where to Use

  • Bridges, parking garages and tunnels
  • Manhole, wet well, sewer and lift station repairs
  • Where high durability is needed
  • Vertical and overhead repair of concrete and masonry
  • Piers, navigation locks, dams, sea walls and other marine structures

  • Silica fume formulation for a denser matrix and extremely low permeability
  • Integral corrosion inhibitor
  • High early and ultimate compressive, flexural and bond strengths
  • High durability

Polymer-modified Cement-based Mortar

Polymer-modified cement-based mortar is a one component, fast-setting, polymer-modified, shrinkage-compensated, cement-based mortar with an integral corrosion inhibitors. It is ideally suited for patching and/or resurfacing distressed horizontal concrete surfaces.

Where to Use

  • Horizontal and vertical surfaces
  • Repair bug holes and honeycombs
  • Leveling and resurfacing distressed concrete
  • Provides consistent color and texture

  • Low modulus of elasticity, improved compatibility for surface renovation
  • Versatile
  • Polymer modified and resists moisture and chloride intrusion
  • Corrosion resistant

Methacrylate Mortar System

Methacrylate mortar system is a three component, high strength rapidly setting mortar which can be applied during freezing temperatures to minimize downtime or traffic disruption.

Where to Use

  • Chemical resistant patching applications such as in chemical/food processing or containment areas
  • Rehabilitation of bridge decks, airport runways and expansion joints
  • Freezer floor repairs
  • Cold weather patching
  • Areas where high strength patching is required such as loading docks, high traffic aisleways, tipping floors or floor subjected to steel wheel traffic

  • Wide range of temperature application
  • Cures rapidly for emergency repairs in high traffic areas
  • Superior compressive, tensile and flexural strengths
  • Withstands high levels of abrasion and impact loading
  • Excellent bond to existing concrete
  • Optimum flexibility to withstand vigorous thermal cycling
  • Freeze thaw resistance
  • Excellent resistance to acids and alkalies

Self-leveling Toppings

Self-leveling toppings are a one component, polymer modified, leveling sub-floor compound for interior concrete floors. They can be used to prepare a wide variety of sub-floors for installation of tile, carpet, resilient flooring, wood flooring and many types of surface coatings. It may also be left exposed as a final finish in light industrial or commercial environments.

Where to Use

  • Factories
  • Manufacturing facilities
  • Commercial buildings
  • Corridors
  • Hospitals
  • Fast track construction

  • Self smoothing and highly fluid
  • Levels and renovates old floors
  • Rapid drying
  • Excellent underlay for tiles or sheet systems
  • Excellent underlay for resin flooring
  • Low odour

Crack Repair (Epoxy)

Cracks in concrete floors or walls can be repaired with either an epoxy paste or injections resin. It is generally used with non-moving cracks.

Where to Use

  • Structurally repairs cracked concrete
  • For slabs, walls, patios, driveways, parking garages and any structures

  • Structurally improves concrete surface
  • High bond strength, even in damp cracks
  • Excellent chemical resistance

Crack Repair (Polyurethanes)

Polyurethanes injection systems are a two component, 100% solid, flexible polyurethane grout used to firmly bond to concrete surface, and will displace and stop water infiltrations.

Where to Use

  • Cracks in tanks
  • Tunnels
  • Pipes
  • Basements
  • Pools
  • Any structure where water intrusion must be stopped

  • The final cured product is a non-toxic rubber foam
  • High bond strength even to damp surface
  • Waterproofs and seals cracks quickly and efficiently

Surface Preparation | East Coast Coatings

We use technologically advanced dust-free shot blast equipment, dust-free grinders, scarifiers and scrubbers to prepare your substrate to receive your new flooring system. Shot blasting is a method used on concrete and steel surfaces which prepares the surface for the application of a coating, seamless floor or any type of overlays.

Sealers, Liquid Hardners & Dustproofers

Sodium silicate based sealers are a propietary blend of Silconate polymers which penetrate concrete surfaces providing an increase in abrasion resistance and a reduction in the surface absorption of liquids. Silane/Siloxane sealers are a deep penetrating liquid designed to protect concrete structures, decks, and surfaces agianst the adverse effects of deicing salts, moisture, weathering and freeze damage.

Decorative Floors | East Coast Coatings

Designers and builders are drawn to stained concrete because of the unique outcome that can be achieved combining color and application techniques on concrete slabs. Versatile application where we incorporate vinyl flake chips and epoxy to create a decorative floor finish that is easy to clean and is resistant to chemicals.

Control/Expansion Joint Sealants | East Coast Coatings

Semi-rigid epoxy joint fillers are a two component, self-leveling sealant for load bearing saw cuts or preformed control joints. This system supports the joint edges and reduces spalling of the edges caused by wheel traffic. Semi-rigid to formula that allows for limited temperature and humidity movement of concrete. Concrete construction & control joints. Crack filler repair for old floors.

Services | East Coast Coatings

Our crews and equipment are fully mobile, allowing us to service you anywhere in Atlantic Canada. Benefit from our outstanding service and long list of comprehensive extras.

Seamless Floors | East Coast Coatings

This troweled system produces an aesthetic and sealed seamless floor composed of multi-colored hard granular aggregates and is finished with a transparent topcoat which is available in gloss. A seamless Floor with a integral cove base is by far, the preferred method for ease of maintenance of floor and highly recommended by environmental health code.

Specialty Coatings | East Coast Coatings

The system is applied with a epoxy primer, electrodes made of copper are installed on the edge and between the control joints to insure the conductivity, conductive coat is installed followed by a chemical resistant top coat. A floor can be 100% completed overnight; including all surface preparation and the installation of multiple MMA coats.
