The frame area has an extensive selection of fashionable frame styles to fit every budget and to suit individual tastes. We pride ourselves in keeping up with the latest fashion trends but offer a variety of styles to suit individual tastes. The frame area is run on a board management system which means that no frame is older than three months. Presently there are 36 different companies that supply frames.
Our optical lab is equipped with the latest technology available for lens cutting. This equipment also has the capability to trace patient's frames, thus enabling patients them to use their existing frames. The majority of lenses are cut in house with the lenses edged and mounted into the frame to make the finished product. Doing the lab work on site can help speed delivery time.
Our doctors will fit the latest in contact lens brands. Disposable contacts in single vision, toric and bifocal powers are now available. Gas permeable and specialty keratoconic lenses are also fitted when appropriate. Trained staff will teach new contact lens wearers how to handle and care for their contacts.
Our office is equipped with a new digital retinal camera, which allows the doctors to obtain photographs of the back of the eye (retina). This is particularly important for patients with conditions such as diabetes hat may cause retinal changes. It allows us to examine the retina in detail and monitor any progression of retinal disease.
For patient with subnormal vision, glasses may not be the best option. Low and high tech magnifying devices may be more beneficial. Our doctors are able to evaluate patients with low vision and suggest some aids that may help. They will also work with the CNIB to provide as many options as possible.
Treatment of Anterior Eye Disease
Our doctors are certified to prescribe therapeutic pharmaceutical agents (eye drops and ointments) to treat anterior eye disease. Patients will be seen as soon as possible in the case of an eye injury, infection or inflammation. Patients who have a foreign body or particle in their eye will be seen on an emergency basis. Timely referrals are made when necessary to ophthalmologists or other specialists.
Laser Refractive Eye Surgery Follow Up Care
Our doctors will provide consultation prior to laser surgery to ensure a patient is a suitable candidate for laser surgery. After the procedure our doctors will co-manage with the laser centers and provide all necessary follow-up care.
