Bliss ..

In September we spent three days producing a suite of five different 'scenes' to inspire and excite you about all the dreamy possibilities for your wedding .. we're over the moon to finally be able to share them with you!

For this outdoor scene, we first selected  as our location because we love it so much! Then we paired '', (one of our all-time fave !) with '' (one of our newest ) and voila .. absolute perfection!

Twiggy inspired elements include our fabulous cork logs, the coca-cola coloured bubbled glass and funky wooden acacia balls.  Florals include garden roses, orchids, dahlias, hydrangea, red skimmia and pink pepperberries.

We're so in love with the modern vintage flair of these pictures!

Bliss ..

We were on the road again this weekend .. this time to mid-town Toronto for Jennifer + Robert's wedding ceremony at Immaculate Conception Church followed by their dinner reception at the massively massive Embassy Grand Convention Centre in north Brampton! We've certainly been logging lots of KMs this wedding season!

Lots of floral goodness this week also .. dahlias, red and pink orchids, red hydrangeas, amaranthus, curly willow, celosia, burgundy cordeline, light pink nerines and the most absolutely delicious garden roses .. ever.

This closeup of Jennifer's bridal bouquet gives you a good idea of the colour palette we were working with .. soft and muted tones.

Each of the five bridesmaids bouquets carried through the colours, but were slightly different in texture and ingredients ..

For the wedding ceremony, we designed a couple of these oversized altar floral arrangements, some pew-posies and filled two of our 42" glass cylinders with curly willow and red mokara orchids.

In a big space (such as the Embassy Grand) everything has to be done oversized to bring back some scale to the room .. otherwise it's easy to get swallowed up by the enormity of the ceiling! To help achieve the balance of scale, we designed a number of large table centerpieces that were raised up off the tables .. above guest sightlines!! The raised head table, fabric backdrops, LED room lighting and pin-lighting of each guest table helped to contribute to the balance as well. In the end .. a vast space became more intimated and the party was spectacular!

Our best wishes to Jennifer + Robert .. cheers to love, life and wedded bliss!!!

Was that summer that just flew by?

It's hard to believe it's already September in just a couple of weeks .. already beginning to look, feel and smell a bit like fall. Maybe we'll just call it 'late summer' for now .. no need to rush things!!! Late summer happens to be my favourite time of year .. mostly because of all the saturated tones and rich, deep colours that come out!

This closeup of the bride's bouquet gives you a good idea of the colour palette we were working with .. watermelon with warm tones of burgundy, blush, salmon and champagne!

Tara's bridal bouquet .. delicious!

The colour matched bridesmaid's bouquets ..

Tara + Shawn's wedding ceremony took place outside on the north deck .. we created twin oversized arrangements to flank the ceremony area. We're loving our giant earthy chocolate vessels for these florals!

These centerpieces were definitely our favourites this weekend .. lush, full florals .. they looked quite at home in the Carriage House!

Our best wishes to Tara + Shawn .. and cheers to late summer weddings in Niagara's wine country!

We absolutely love working in Niagara on the Lake .. this little town is so full of interest and charm that it naturally enhances anything we do here!

We were working some fantastic late summer blooms to pull off a sophisticated, yet romantic and classic feel. The white chair covers with stem green bows and matching stationery were a perfect backdrop for the flowers.

Kristin + Ryan are two beautiful, genuine souls .. truly meant for each other and it was a pleasure to be a part of their wedding celebration!

Kristin's gorgeous bride's bouquet …

The coordinating bridesmaid's bouquets ..

We simply adore St. Mark's Church .. this beautiful old-stone church dates back over 200 years .. a lot of history here. Not just a history of religion or love .. but of the founding of Canada!

We hope Ryan doesn't mind us posting this pic of him holding Kristin's bouquet .. he was busy assisting her into the car and walked off with her bouquet .. so cute!

We designed a mix of tall and short full-floral centerpieces for each of the guest tables in the Grand Georgian Ballroom ..

Kristin + Ryan's 'Sweet Heart' table ..

We're not sure who provided this scrumptious cupcake tree .. unfortunately (for us) we didn't get a sample .. but it sure looked amazing!

Bliss ..

Another first for us .. in ten years of designing flowers for weddings, we've never done one on a Monday .. until today!!

Suffice it to say, we were a little sad for our bride and groom .. that they weren't able to be wed in the vineyard under the chuppah .. but love knows no boundaries and come rain or come shine, Stephanie + Danny's love certainly weathered this little hurdle. :)

Cheers guys! We wish the newly weds blessings in their marriage.

Bliss was the colour palette for this smashing brides' bouquet .. how lovely!

Our Chuppah looked absolutely amazing out among the graperows in the vineyards .. lovin' it!!

Other products and services from Mimosa Flower S

Our Collections :: Twiggy

We designed primarily with dahlias, pink piano garden roses, pink spray roses and some 'gardeny bits' including delicate fern fronds, astilbe and scented geranium foliage from our studio's organic cutting gardens. On Saturday night we had the pleasure of designing a 64ft long tablescape for a corporate excursion dinner at Chateau des Charmes Winery in Niagara-on-the-Lake ..

Weddings by Colour :: Breeze

The well-treed and shaded Miller House garden is a great little gem of a place for an outdoor wedding ceremony right smack-dab in the middle of Niagara-on-the-Lake. The flowers consisted of mainly purple and white hydrangeas and roses, spray roses, smokebush, deep purple vanda orchids and, yep, purple carnations. Best wishes to Kim + Les … thanks for inviting us to be a part of making your Niagara wedding celebration memorable.

Our Collections :: Twiggy - twiggy

This tablescape in the Carriage House features loads of flowers, romantic candlelight, textural elements and the gleam of pristine glass. We were really excited about designing this wedding because it’s really different than what you’d normally see or expect at a wedding. It turns out that we've got this old yellow couch that was sort of one of the main things that started the whole ball rolling ..

Weddings by Colour :: Breeze - breeze

Christal + Ki were married in an outdoor wedding ceremony on the deck overlooking the vineyards with the Niagara Escarpment and Lake Ontario in the distance .. A very modern vintage theme featuring classic glassware and pewter accents such as our hammered-rim votive holders, pewter linens and silver chiavari chairs.

Weddings by Colour :: Glow

We designed using some dazzling yellow garden roses, yellow craspedia, white orchids and hydrangeas, dahlias, delicate cammomile, gloriosa blooms and oodles of gardeny bits such as mint and raspberry foliage from our organic cutting gardens here at the studio. Heather + Peter were married in an outdoor wedding ceremony on the back lawn overlooking the Burlington Bay at Burlington Golf and Country Club ..

Weddings by Colour :: Charm

Usually when we work with distance couples, there is generally some sort of family tie to the greater Niagara area, but in this case, Jennifer + Chris simply fell in love with the idea of getting married in Niagara on the Lake!. We designed primarily with dahlias, pink piano garden roses, pink spray roses and some 'gardeny bits' including delicate fern fronds, astilbe and scented geranium foliage from our studio's organic cutting gardens.
