To get the best performance from any mechanical system it must be controlled as intended. Because the design of a geothermal system includes the design of the energy source..the ground heat exchanger..a good control strategy and sequence of operations is even more important.

Geo-Xergy develops the control sequence of operations specific to your project and meets with the controls contractor to eliminate ambiguity regarding the intent of the controls

TC Testing

Geo-Xergy has invested in the latest thermal conductivity equipment and training for testing both vertical boreholes and the soil for horizontal ground heat exchanger. Knowing the properties of the soil or rock the ground heat exchanger will be built in allows us to fine tune the size and configuration of the ground heat exchanger.

Mechanical System Design

By working with the design team and adjusting the building energy model in real time, it is possible to reduce the equipment needed in the building and the size of the ground heat exchanger needed to supply energy to it. We work closely with you and your design team to reduce building energy requirements and balance the energy loads to and from the ground heat exchanger.

Quality Assurance / Quality Control

Scheduled and random site inspections during construction of the ground heat exchanger and system ensure the system is installed as specified and open communication with the contractors helps ensure their questions and concerns are addressed before installation. Quality assurance/quality control begins with a solid energy model and site analysis to ensure we are working with the most accurate information to design the system.

Energy Modeling

Ongoing energy modeling throughout the design process allows us to interface with the architectural and engineering design team to optimize the design of the building, the mechanical system and the ground heat exchanger, thereby reducing capital cost. This type of detailed building energy simulation is needed to accurately predict energy consumption in the building and energy cost based on the utility rate structure based on the location.

Feasibility Studies

More importantly, along with some knowledge of the geological conditions and the size of the building site, it is possible to calculate the size of the ground heat exchanger required for the building and estimate the cost of constructing it.

What Can we do For You

Reducing your impact on the environment is an honorable goal, but to make it work in a business environment there must be a solid return on the investment made to achieve it. Geo-Xergy works with you and your design team to develop and refine an energy model of your project, be it a single building or an multi-building development.
