Winnipeg Police Shoptheft Protocol is an elective course for those working as security or loss prevention in a retail environment.  This training program has the prerequisite of the Manitoba Security Guard Training Program and allows security and loss prevention officers to release certain shoplifters under specific provisions rather than having to wait for a police car.  This training saves time of the security staff, as well as the resources of the police.
