Matrix Switch Corporation offers the widest selection of compact HD-SDI switchers. With 24 different configurations to choose from. These systems are all 1RU in height and less than 5 inches deep, allowing their installation is the tightest of space and weight limited (less than 5 pounds) situations.
The 8x1, 12x1 and 16x1 systems all come with quad outputs. The 4x4 and 8x4 systems include dual outputs. The first four outputs of the 8x8 are dual and outputs 5 through 8 are single outputs.
All Matrix Switch Corporation HD SDI switchers pass embedded audio.
Each of these compact HD (SMPTE 292) - SDI (SMPTE 259) serial digital video matrix routing switching can be ordered with an optional local control panel and or AES3 75 ohm S/PDIF digital audio built in. Balanced analog stereo audio or balanced 110 AES configurations are also available in the same frame. The prices and model numbers below include the AES3 75 ohm S/PDIF digital audio variation for each digital video switcher size. Prices for the Analog audio or 110 ohm digital audio are the same as the prices shown for the AES3 75 ohm S/PDIF digital audio.
Analog audio is balanced +24DBm with a 120dB S/N on D25 connectors for the inputs and outputs. The D25 pinout is compatible with Tascam breakout adapaters to male or female XLR connectors. Adapters are available for converting from D25 connectors to compression screw terminal strips. Matrix Switch Corporation does not put terminal strips directly on the rear of these systems because they are unreliable. In addition to low cost Tascam adapters, low cost pre-assembled 25 wire cable with D connectors or ribbon cable can be used to install these systems. Drastically cutting down on time and labor costs.
The video mute feature adds a fifth input to the 4x4, a ninth input to the 8x8, a ninth input to the 8x1 and a thirteenth input to the 12x1.
These compact systems and the modular 16x16 systems, operate on low voltage DC, either +5VDC or +12VDC from the included external power supply.
Matrix Switch Corporation HD SDI matrix routing switchers employ a flexible and user friendly control system. In addition to a simple and logical RS232 ASCII protocol that is currently supported by a number of third party control companies, these VGA switchers have other easy to use control ports. Each system has a built in web page. Unlike GUI software that must be loaded on a PC which may be OS dependent, have conflict issues or compromise system performance, the built in web page will run on any platform and with any web browser. In addition Matrix Switch Corporation offers a selection of remote control panels. These panels are TCP/IP Ethernet based, which give you the greatest flexibility in placement, quantity and how they will be networked.
The remote software update feature allows new software with new features to be easily re-loaded via the Ethernet port without the need to open up the system, use any special programming systems or development system software.
Because the optional remote control control panels are TCP/IP based there is no distance limit between the panels and the switcher electronics.
