Green Design Initiative At Jaroff Design & Mison Concepts, problem-solving has always been our chief strength. Believing that creativity, knowledge and experience are all that is needed to excel beyond the impossible, we have designed, engineered and fabricated projects that others thought could not be done. This is why we are uniquely positioned to add a valuable hand in the powerful green agenda that has been laid out for our country, and the world, at this critical moment. We can’t continue building the way we always have – but we must continue to build, grow and innovate. Inspired by the momentum that has finally brought environmental responsibility to the fore, my team and I are launching the Green Design Initiative as an integrated part of Jaroff Design & Mison Concepts’ services. Combining our professional expertise with personal dedication to environmental issues, we are bolstering our long-standing dedication to using cutting-edge materials and technologies with a new focus on sustainability and green applications. Strategic uses of architectural metal and glass have enormous, and vastly under utilized, potential to make projects more energy efficient, even energy independent. At the same time, new government incentives are now making these options not only affordable, but financially rewarding. Through the Green Design Initiative, we are committing to look at each project with new eyes – promising that we will consider all potential energy-saving, energy-producing and environmentally-beneficial opportunities as we approach each blueprint and drawing. In particular, we are working with clients to identify places where Building Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) glass panels can become part of façades, balcony railings, roofs, and canopy structures, and then designing beautiful, high-efficiency systems that maximize this energy harnessing technology.  Looking beyond specific materials, this includes overall engineering of spaces, alternative energy potentialities within the project site – such as geothermal and wind – and the related benefits programs that will make all of these more cost-effective. We will also provide consulting on LEED accreditation, helping clients understand where the current plan stands and where it could be improved to reach this goal. These suggestions will allow our clients to make well-informed decisions about how they too can play a part in building a better world for the future. Please check back soon, as we will plan to expand the Green Design Initiative in the coming months to include specific products and consulting services. Sincerely, Joseph Jaroff President & Founder
