Hypertherm sells products via a network of over 1800 authorized channel partners in almost 100 countries. These channel partners are authorized based on their knowledge of their geographic markets, the industries they serve, and Hypertherm products. Authorized Hypertherm sellers also make a commitment to provide their customers with post-sale service and support, as well as access to consumable parts.
Different channel partners are authorized to sell and service different Hypertherm products in accordance with their business model, including primary markets served.
Hypertherm does not sell direct to end customers.
Prospective customers may have multiple options for purchasing Hypertherm products, in particular consumables and the Powermax line of products sold through numerous distribution outlets worldwide. There are a variety of factors customers need to consider when deciding from whom they will purchase, and it is up to each customer to determine which factors he considers most important. Factors to consider when deciding where to purchase Hypertherm products include:
Most Hypertherm channel partners carry only a portion of the total Hypertherm line. This is primarily driven by the markets the channel partner chooses to serve and the regulatory requirements of the specific area. Regulatory requirements for welding and cutting tools differ from country to country, and customers need to take care to ensure that their selected channel partner carries the correct product configuration for their market. For example, European Union countries require products to have “CE” certification. CE-certified Hypertherm products are ONLY available in countries that require the CE certification.
Local stocking and delivery
Some customers may also consider whether the channel partner has the desired Hypertherm product – as well as consumables and repair parts – in stock for immediate pick-up or delivery, or whether it must be shipped in from a central warehouse based on demand.
Authorized channel partners set their own selling prices for Hypertherm products. These prices vary due to a variety of factors, including:

Each of these factors carries a cost – and also a value – that is typically reflected in the selling price.
Pre-sales expertise and assistance
Most Hypertherm channel partners have sales staff who have a strong knowledge of the capabilities and operation of Hypertherm products, and who are expert at developing an understanding of each customer’s individual requirements. These salespeople help customers select the most appropriate Hypertherm products based on their needs. Most channel partners are able to perform a product demonstration in their showroom or at the customer’s site.
After-sales training, service and warranty support
Most customers will find that they require some amount of after-sales service and support, ranging from preventative maintenance to additional training for new operators to timely access to consumable or repair parts. Different channel partners offer different levels of after-sales service and support.
Note that while Hypertherm’s warranty is valid regardless of where a customer purchases a Hypertherm product, channel partners are not required to provide free warranty service for products that they did not sell.
Authorized vs. unauthorized distributor
Hypertherm products should only be purchased from authorized Hypertherm channel partners. Unauthorized sellers of Hypertherm products have not received sales or service training. Unauthorized sellers may not sell genuine Hypertherm consumable parts or repair parts, and may not honor the full factory warranty provided by Hypertherm on all products.
Some Hypertherm products may be purchased online, often at prices that may appear attractive.
For certain customers considering certain products, buying online may make sense. Other
customers may be better off purchasing from a local seller – even if the price is higher than
online. When deciding whether to purchase from an online seller or from a local distributor,
customers should ask themselves the following questions:
Is the price listed what I will pay? Does it include:Shipping charges?Taxes or tariffs?Credit card fees?Is the price listed in my currency? If not, is there foreign exchange risk?Does the product being sold have the required regulatory approvals for my market? Note: Authorized Hypertherm channel partners who sell via the Internet are not authorized to ship
product internationally. The reason for this is because they do not necessarily have access to
products that meet the regulatory requirements outside of their home country, and because they
do not offer in-market service and support for international customers.
Where it is practical to do so, Hypertherm sells some products in multiple currencies. For
example, in the United States, Powermax products are sold in United States Dollars ($), while in
the European Union, these products are sold in Euros (€). Hypertherm believes this benefits
customers in the European Union as it keeps prices from fluctuating with currency movements.
This consistency of pricing allows customers to more accurately budget their planned
expenditures and avoid the foreign exchange risk (buying when prices are high) that they would

is in the United States or in the European Union, the customer’s actual cost for Hypertherm
products has not changed, regardless of any change in currency values.

listed on this site, such as shipping costs, import fees, and product differences due to regulatory requirements.
