Injury-Therapeutic Treatment

We are able to access and treat various conditions related to soft tissue injury. Therapeutic massage, in conjunction with exercise, helps to maintain and increase range of motion. Specific techniques will soothe some neurological problems often reducing quantity and frequency of analgesics needed for pain and sleep. Healthy muscle exhibits specific tone and normal resting length. Injuries create muscular imbalances thereby giving rise to pain due to compensatory muscular symmetry.

Relaxation Treatments

Massage can be used to teach tense and anxious individuals how to relax. Prolonged mental and emotional stress may lead to tension headaches, backaches, digestive disorders. high blood pressure, etc. Too much stress compromises the immune system which leaves us more vulnerable to disease and impairs your recovery.

Chiropractors, or Doctors of Chiropractic (DC), practice a drug free, manual approach to health care that includes patient assessment, diagnosis and treatment. In particular, Chiropractors assess patients for disorders related to the spine, pelvis, extremity joints, and their effect on the nervous system. As a result of taking a full patient history and performing a physical examination, chiropractors are able to provide a differential diagnosis for the patient's presenting condition(s) and develop a comprehensive treatment/management plan. Chiropractors are also trained to recommend therapeutic exercise, to utilize other non-invasive therapies, as well as to provide dietary and lifestyle couseling. Chiropractic has been extensively researched and has shown to be extrememly safe and effective for treating musculoskeletal conditions such as neck pain, lower back pain, headaches and many others. Our Chiropractor is Dr. Michael Cembroski, he is available at both out St.Annes and Henderson Hwy locations. For more info on Chiropractic please go to www.ccachiro.org.

Benefits of Chinese Acupuncture & Traditional Medicine

Chinese Medicine encompasses Eastern philosophies which look at the body as an organism that is affected by an internal and external environment. This idea leads to the doctor treating the original problem and not the side effects which are commonly treated in Western medicine. Herbs, roots and different natural ingredients are the traditional medicines used. Chinese Acupuncture is a time proven technique that clears the blockages that may occur throughout the bodies energy meridians. Acupuncture can usually stop chronic pain instantly and also be used to restore motion in a joint, balance the bodies regulatory systems and it can even be used to help a person break free from addictions such as smoking. It is generally pain free and instant results are likely to occur.

The Q2 energy spa revitalizes and invigorates your body while you relax and soak your feet in a warm bath. Through patented, complex technology the Q2 charges the warm water with life giving energy and since our bodies are made mainly from water we absorb this energy quite easily. Have you ever felt tired and run down? Maybe a spa treatment is exactly what you need. Many have commented on how much clearer minded, full of energy and balanced they have felt after a treatment.

Reiki healing is a hands-on energy healing art. It was originated in Japan in the early 20th century by Mikao Usui, who had a life-changing experience of light and energy that he recognized as Reiki --sacred life force--and that awakened his innate healing abilities. He developed a system of practices that enabled others to become effective healers. In a Reiki healing session, the practitioner, trained to access and serve as a channel for the life force (ki or chi), places her hands on or just above the client's body in order to activate healing energy within receptive points on the body. The practitioner's hands move progressively with a passive touch through twelve positions on the body, remaining in each position for three to five minutes. As a harmonic flow of energy is strengthened, within the client and the practitioner, healing occurs through the return of physical, mental and spiritual balance.

Based on an ancient Chinese therapy, Reflexology involves manipulation of specific reflex areas in the foot, hands and ears that correspond to other parts of the body. Sometimes referred to as zone therapy, this bodywork involves application of pressure to these reflex zones to stimulate body organs and relieve areas of congestion. Similar to acupressure principles, Reflexology works with the bodies energy flow to stimulate self-healing and maintain balance in physical function. This technique is used to reduce pain, increase relaxation and stimulate circulation of blood and lymphatic fluids. It is especially useful in stress-related illness and emotional disorders. Reflexology is also convenient in cases where an area of the body is traumatized or diseased to the extent that direct manipulation is not appropriate.

Ear Candling is an ancient technique practiced by many ancient civilizations, whereby a funnel made of muslin and soaked in bee's wax or paraffin is placed in the ear and lit, creating a vaccuum, which is said to clean out the ear canal. It is a profound healing art, the process continuing for days after the 'coning'. It can help a number of ailments including; allergies, sinus problems and ear aches.

Shiatsu massage is an ancient form of healing that involves applying pressure to various points of the body which can unblock energy channels. Chi energy blockages can result in physical dysfunctions. A Shiatsu Therapist uses a sustained pressure in a gentle manner which can release the energy blockages and return the patient to a state of pain free health. Contact Us for more information
