HCRG 2011 Season Opener Poster

Hamilton, ON, Canada – The Hammer City Roller Girls (HCRG) are gearing up to hit the track in their first game of the 2011 season. Both HCRG teams will host squads from London’s Forest City Derby Girls (FCDG) in a double header on Saturday, May 7 at Dave Andreychuk (Mountain) Arena. Doors open at 5:30 pm with the first game set to start at 6:00pm and the second at 8:00pm.

In one half of this double header, the newly re-aligned Hammer City Harlots team will face off against the Luscious Lunch Ladies. The Harlots are now the HCRG’s regional team and are made up of veteran skaters along with more recent additions to the league. The second match-up features a showdown between HCRG’s charter Hammer City Eh! Team and the seasoned Thames Fatales.

The two leagues are long established flat-track roller derby rivals, having skated against each other every season since 2007. Last year, HCRG’s home teams swept the series against London’s Thames Fatales in competitive home-and-home bouts, setting the stage for a rematch that promises plenty of hard-hitting derby action.

The remaining games of the 2011 HCRG home season are:

Saturday, June 11: HCRG VS Queen City Roller Girls (Buffalo, NY)
Teams/Times TBD

Saturday, July 9: HCRG VS TBC

Saturday, August 13: HCRG VS Killamazoo Derby Darlins (Kalamazoo, MI)
