The revolutionary, patent pending hinge feature creates the optimal ratio of protection, fit, and comfort. By flexing at key points, the guard can fit the curvature of any shin.
The F90 HINGE was designed to be the best shinguard on the market and is crafted from top of the line materials, including ForceBloc foam. Not only does the F90 HINGE provide unparalleled protection of the tibia, it also provides the option of integrated ankle protection. This along with the cutting edge hinge feature, removable straps and separate nylon sleeve make the F90 HINGE the most versatile and technologically advanced shinguard you can buy.
Many soccer players purposely use the smallest shin guard available leaving a disproportionately large area of the leg exposed to the rigors of the game. In an effort to address this situation, NFHS has adopted the NOCSAE shinguard standard. Below is a synopsis of the standard.
Beginning with the 2008-09 high school soccer season, shinguards must meet the NOCSAE standard. Approved shinguards will be stamped or labeled with the NOCSAE logo and will specify which size is correct according to the height of the player. Players will no longer be allowed to wear undersized shinguards.
Improperly equipped players will be instructed to leave the field of play and may re-enter only after reporting to an official who deems the player's equipment is in order. The first caution (yellow card) is issued to the coach, but all subsequent cautions for illegally equipped players will be issued to the player directly.
The Full90 HINGE is NOCSAE certified and comes in two sizes. The Small/Medium can be used by players up to 58 and the Large can be used by players up to 62 tall.
ForceBloc Foam™ is an ultra-lightweight cross-linked, high density foam made of polyethylene. This state of the art foam is used in all of our headguards and goalie pads. Tests show ForceBloc foam reduces impact force by up to 50%.
Perhaps its most impressive application of ForceBloc Foam™ is in our Full90 Performance Headguards. There are many types of hard surface impacts that occur in soccer such as; head to head, head to ground, head knee, or head to goalpost. The linear or rotational acceleration of these types of impact forces to a player's head can be devastating. Reducing impact forces by up to 50% can mean a drastic reduction in the chances of sustaining a concussion.
ForceBloc Foam™ also has a unique property which allows it to not affect a players ability to head the ball. Studies show that at the relatively low speed of ball impacts (compared to those of hard surface concussive impacts) there is no greater absorption of force, and ball rebound speeds remain similar to those off of a bare head.
The F90 HINGE Shinguard has a revolutionary, patent pending hinge feature which creates the ideal curvature for the optimal ratio of protection, fit, and comfort. The unique hinge element allows the guard to fit any leg by flexing at key points and wrapping around the players shin. With the shinguard snuggly in place against the players shin the ForceBloc foam is better able to absorb the impact forces as intended. This is precisely the problem with other shinguards, a loose fit around the curvature of the shin means the ball hits the shinguard then the shinguard hits your leg. A loose fitting shinguard can not do its job properly.
Quick Connect Clip
The F90 HINGE shinguard utilizes the innovative Quick Connect one-time-adjusting Clip. This clip has two unique features the first is the way in which it connects to the shinguard. As the name implies, its designed to snap on quickly and hold tight. The second is its ease of adjustability. You only need to adjust it to your shin once and you will have the right fit, every time.
