A Greenroof at Ground LevelTM

Best value for Rooftop Treatment. Filterra Roofdrain offers a cost effective solution for treating rooftop runoff with a piped-in-flow from rooftop drainage areas featuring low cost, easy installation and simple maintenance. High flows bypass the system internally, eliminating the cost of an external bypass.

Green. Reduce your footprint utilizing Filterra’s compact size, and prevent pollutants from entering your storm system with Filterra Roofdrain, a system that effectively treats rooftop runoff.

Versatile. Filterra Roofdrain is easy to install, and can be used for new construction, retrofits, commercial or residential applications. Filterra Roofdrain can be placed:

  • At grade with a sidewalk
  • Slightly above grade to meet elevation challenges (high water tables)
  • Distanced from the building

Maintenance Support. Maintenance is simple and safe (at ground level), and the first year is provided FREE with the purchase of every unit.

Design Support. Our engineers can assist you with all aspects of each Filterra Roofdrain application, including flora and sizing selection. Contact us for sizing in your region.

How does Filterra® Roofdrain Work? The Filterra Roofdrain System works just like a standard Filterra; however it treats rooftop runoff from downspouts/roof leaders directly into the Filterra unit. Pollutants are captured and immobilized in the container where they are then decomposed, volatilized and incorporated into the biomass of the system’s micro/macro fauna and flora. Stormwater continues to flow through the media and into the underdrain system, where treated water is discharged. Higher flows bypass the bioretention treatment via an overflow/bypass pipe system.

University of Virginia testing confirmed that Filterra meets or exceeds federal and state regulatory requirements for pollutant removal.

Filterra Bioretention Systems: FAQ : Support, Stormwater Solutions

Unit dimensions listed on all Filterra documents (plans, drawings, Engineer Design Assistance Kits, sales sheets, etc) refer to the internal dimensions of the Filterra unit. When water flows into the Filterra system “head-on” it may cause system damage and may eject collected trash back into the parking lot or roadway.
