As an Approved Adoption Practitioner through the Ministry of Children & Youth Services, Donna offers:

  • S.A.F.E. Adoption Homestudies for international, domestic private and domestic child welfare adoptions;
  • Support and assistance to review a proposed child's medical and social background history for a domestic or international adoption. When needed, Donna will help you to contact medical professionals with expertise in international adoption medicine. Donna will help you to realistically determine your comfort and acceptance of the child proposal and she will write the acceptance/refusal report for government authorities or liaise with the Children's Aid Society involved;
  • After the adoption, Donna will keep in periodic contact with you, and she will conduct any post-placement home visits and follow-up reports required by the child's country of origin or the Children's Aid Society. If the child's adoption will finalize in Ontario, she will visit with you during the required timeframe, generally six months to one year, and then, she will complete the paperwork to assist with the adoption finalization.

As a P.R.I.D.E. Lead-Trainer approved by the Ontario Association of Children's Aid Societies, Donna offers:

  • P.R.I.D.E. Training is for people considering adoption and people currently participating in a S.A.F.E. Adoption Homestudy.
