TFX Ultra ultrasonic flow and energy meters clamp onto the outside of pipes and do not contact the internal liquid. The technology has inherent advantages over alternate devices including: low-cost installation, no pressure head loss, no moving parts to maintain or replace, no fluid compatibility issue, and a large, bi-directional measuring range that ensures reliable readings even at very low and high flow rates. TFX Ultra is available in a variety of configurations that permit the user to select a meter with features suitable to meet particular application requirements.

The TFX Ultra is available in two versions: a stand-alone flow meter, and an energy flow meter used in conjunction with dual clamp-on RTDs. The energy flow meter measures energy usage in BTU or Tons, and is ideal for retrofit, chilled water and other HVAC applications.

Features of the TFX Ultra include:

  • Ability to measure liquids with small amounts of suspended solids or aeration (e.g., surface water, sewage).
  • Bi-directional flow measurement system. Totalizer options include forward, reverse and net total.
  • Modbus RTU over RS485 communications; Ethernet connection includes BACnet/IP®, EtherNet/IP™ and Modbus TCP/IP protocols.
  • Compact enclosure uses large, easy-to-read digital display.
  • Rugged, aluminum enclosure ensures a long service life in harsh environments.

Ultrasonic and Insertion Magnetic Flow Meters :: Products :: ULTRALINK

ULTRALINK™ communicates with TFX and MFX flow meters through a PC serial communications port and infrared serial adapter (TFX Ultra™ uses any standard A/B USB cable and TFXL products require a hardwire interconnection). Designed with the user/operator in mind, configuration and calibration of transit time ultrasonic flow meters has never been as simple and straightforward as it is with Series TFX and Series MFX.

Ultrasonic and Insertion Magnetic Flow Meters :: Products :: Hybrid Ultrasonic Flow Meters

By automatically determining which principle to use, these meters are able to provide the most accurate measurement for the present conditions of the application. Since sound energy in a moving liquid is carried faster when it travels in the direction of fluid flow, a differential in the times of flight will occur. The flow meter operates by transmitting and receiving a frequency modulated burst of sound energy between two transducers.

Ultrasonic and Insertion Magnetic Flow Meters :: Products :: Transit Time Flow Meters

The TFX family of transit time flow meters is equipped with either two transducers that are clamped on the outside of a closed pipe at a specific distance from each other or a single clamp-around design. Since sound energy in a moving liquid is carried faster when it travels in the direction of fluid flow than it does when it travels against fluid flow, a differential in the times of flight will occur.

Ultrasonic and Insertion Magnetic Flow Meters :: Products :: Doppler Flow Meters

Availble in three separate product styles to accomodate a variety of customer applications, the DFX family of products includes non-invasive meters as well as an insertion probe for applications where the pipes do not readily pass untrasound, such as concrete, FRP/GRP or wooden materials. Dynasonics Doppler ultrasonic flow meters are designed to measure the flow of liquids that contain sound reflectors – suspended solids or gas bubbles.
