Dec 29 2010 after a long day at the dog show, I arrived home in time to turn on the news. The story on the TV was about a family that had lost their toy poodle on Christmas day to a pit bull attack. I think what broke my heart more then anything was that Jacob the 6 year old boy, had witnessed this attack. With out talking to my husband or my friend in Holland I contacted the family. I explained that the puppies were born on the 20th of Dec so they would have to wait to get him. Also I did not want them to make any decision right away on the phone. I gave them my website and told them to talk about it. The next evening they called and said that they would love to have a pup from me. I was honoured!
I went done to visit the family in January with 2 of my older dogs in tow. Noby my 8 year old black miniature male and Bandit my red 1 year old. Jacob fell in love with them right away. We set a date to bring the puppy down to them Feb 14/2011. They also named their new boy, Duenna’s Chico Love Monkey. I had to come down on the weekend for my grandsons 3rd birthday so we changed the date to Sat. This gave Jacob extra time to enjoy his new puppy before he went to school. I would like to thank Pet Smart for donating a crate , bed, grooming etc. That was wonderful! Also to Usher Animal Hospital. They have donated the neuter for Chico.
