In The Community - Dryden Ice Dogs

With Ouwehand suffering from a neuromuscular disorder, the neighbours had a wheelchair ramp that had been paid forward previoulsy by Terry Robinson. Wanting to pay it forward again, the ramp was offered to the Ouwehand family, and some assistance to move it was needed. Seven members of the Dryden Ice Dogs came out on Sept. 26 to assist the family of local resident, Rachel Ouwehand.

Jesse Linner had two goals and set-up another pair helping the Dryden Ice Dogs win their 300th game in Superior International Junior Hockey League history as they defeated the Sioux Lookout Flyers 5-2 Tuesday evening at Memorial Arena. Following a scoreless middle stanza Jaret Stratford would notch the eventual game-winner beating Sioux Lookout netminder Jayme Brattengeier at 6:34 of the third.


Alumni - Dryden Ice Dogs

Seven alumni from the league skated for the Lumberjacks last season with Northland adding three more for the 2011-12 campaign in Perrier, Matt Valley of the Thunder Bay North Stars and Garrett Nystedt of the Fort Frances Lakers. It is with GREAT honour that the Dryden Ice Dogs share with you, the LEAGUE announcement of this years RECIEPIENT of the S.I.J.H.L Pizza Hut Player of the Year Award.

Following a scoreless opening period the Ice Dogs would grab a 2-0 cushion after two periods of play as Tom Kuhn and Chris Belhumer found the back of the net less than four minutes apart early in the frame beating Duluth netminder Jason Dzurik.

Jordan Larson tallied twice and set-up two others to help lead the Fort Frances Lakers past the visiting Dryden Ice Dogs 5-3 Tuesday in Superior International Junior Hockey League action at Ice for Kids Arena. Cole Sonstebo scored four times and set-up another to help pace the Dryden Ice Dogs past the Duluth Clydesdales 6-3 Sunday in Superior International Junior Hockey League play at the Heritage Sports Center.
