Departure Productions was recently asked to update the corporate website for Precision Transfer Technologies, a company that handles video and media services in Ottawa and Toronto.  Check out the new website here:   http://precisiontransfer.com   This is the second time we have done a website overhaul for Precision Transfer, and the new site offers many new features.

Ottawa-area children’s author Kita Szpak asked us to build her a website to help publicize her children’s stories and speaking events. It can be found by navigating to the following URL: http://www.picturebookstories.com The site is based on WordPress and features sections for her latest news, a series of personal messages, and Paypal links for her books and other items she sells.  Many of the videos featured on the website were produced by Departure Productions as well.

Ottawa-area blues virtuoso Robert Farrell asked us to build him a website to help publicize his shows, lessons and studio work. It can be found by navigating to the following URL: http://www.robertfarrell.com The site is based on WordPress and features sections for his latest news, a gallery of photos and YouTube videos, as well as a live show database.  Many of the videos featured on the website were produced by Departure Productions, most notably the instructional guitar videos.

Departure adds another short comedy to its repetoir with Breaking Up, a pair of sketches which offer a humorous look at two couples calling it quits. (This video was hosted on superu.ca, which is no longer active.  We will be posting it again online in the near future, and will embed it here.)

Happy holidays from Departure Productions! We’re pleased to announce yet another new short video just in time for Christmas! The new short, entitled The Night Before Greedmas, is a rewrite of the classic Christmas poem, and stars Shannon Couwenbergh as a little girl who is a bit too anxious for Christmas to arrive. It is a simple reminder that giving our time is more valuable than giving presents. Also, it features my dad in a funny wig and a mustache, so it is a must see just for that!

Departure Productions has completed yet another short film and entered it into a superu.ca contest!  Yard Sale stars the ever-zany Kevin Moorcroft as an amateur sports enthusiast who is excited about receiving his new skis in the mail.  Also featured in the short is Gordon Poth Jr, who plays Kevin’s roomate and who has reservations about the quality of Kevin’s online purchase.   For the non-skiers out there, the term “Yard Sale” describes the scene after a skiing accident in which the unlucky individual loses much of their gear as they tumble. Now, technically, this is supposed to be for movies that have never and will never be made, but you can bet your bottom dollar that we’re still working on actually making Maggot Man 2. This Friday, June 24th, at 9:30 pm, Ottawa’s Mayair Theatre is having a special screening of movie trailers for film that have never been made.
