Since 1979, over 6000 customers worldwide have used the Safety Pad II FR with outstanding results. Molded from a high strength 100% solids urethane elastomer which offers extreme hydrolytic stability, anti-fungal properties, ultraviolet stability, fire retardant properties, and chemical or diesel resistance, this high-traction work surface can be custom molded to fit rotary tables, drill rig floors and any other critical work or walk area. 

Safety Pad II FR

is known to outlast our leading competitors mat by 2-3 times and has been tested and approved by the Norwegian Maritime Directorate.  This approval is based on test certificate 250010.40/92.238 dates 7/31/92, Sinted NBL - Norwegian Fire Research Laboratory.  The test method is Solas (Safety of Life At Sea) NT Fire 007-NS-Insta 414).

Custom molded for heavy industrial applications such as drilling rig floors, rotary tables and pipe racking areas. Our 3/4"- 1 1/4" mats provide a high-traction work surface for critical areas and walkways. Drainage grooves are molded into the surface of the 1 1/4" mats to assist in the control of fluids that can accumulate during drilling operations and all pads come standard with a non-skid coating for additional traction and durability.

Rotary Table

The Safety Pad II FR is molded from a high strength, fire retardant and chemical resistant urethane with stainless steel studs protruding from its non-skid surface. Grooves are molded into its surface for drainage of fluids which accumulate during drilling operations.

Movable Pipe Rack

If you're racking pipe on wood, a Movable Pipe rack is available. Cleats on the bottom of the pad bite into the wood to prevent movement. As the rack fills with drill pipe, two men can relocate the pad as needed.

This high-traction work surface is custom molded 1 1/4" thick to fit the rotary table, drill floor, pipe rack and any other critical work or walk area. Since 1979, over 6,000 rigs have installed the pad with outstanding results.

This high-traction work surface is custom molded 3/4" thick for use on stairways, derrick boards, and workover rigs.

Custom Safety Products, Inc. - Safety Pad II Diesel Absorption Test

At the start and at weekly intervals of the testing period sample weights were recorded and the differences compared to determine the affects of solubility in a hydrocarbon environment. We have completed evaluation of the urethane polymers CS-100FR and a leading competitor's mat sample for absorption and durability in the presence of common diesel fuel.

Safety Pad III FR is now offered in a high or low profile version for applications not requiring the stainless steel studs or grooves. Safety Pad III FR is molded from a high strength, fire retardant and chemical resistant urethane.

Custom Safety Products, Inc. - Safety Pad II Dielectric Test

The scope of work was limited to conducting a Dielectric Proof test on the samples and providing a factual report of the results. This report presents the results of Dielectric tests conducted on 9 samples of polymer blocks. Electrodes were machined from Brass round stock to a diameter of 1 inches. 3/4", CS-100, yellow, studs, CS-200 non skid, CS-300 top coat. The voltage was increased slowly to 25,000 VDC.

Safety Pad II is molded from a high-strength, chemical resistant, urethane, equipped with steel studs in thickness approximately 32mm.
