The key to developing excellent hockey skills, has to do with how many proper repetitions the player performs over a period of time. The more the player commits to proper repetition the quicker they will develop the skill through off ice training. The player only requires to do 10 to 20 minutes, three times per week to seen an improvement in a skill.
Off ice practice is very good in theory but harder to accomplish. For the most motivated hockey player practicing skills off ice can be boring. Creating a lack of focus, thus no or very little improvement.
Core Hockey Training will be offering off ice training were the player will commit to eight one hour skill development session off ice and 4 one hour session on ice in May and June. The focus will be on puck handling and some passing. We will also ask the player to commit to two 15 minutes sessions were they practice the skills taught at home.
