I provide counselling to women and men who need some additional support during pre-conception, pregnancy, and postpartum. Please give me a call and we can talk about how I may be able to assist you throughout this very important time in your life. I provide counselling to people in their homes, or if it suits you better, in a private counselling office in Vancouver.

My counselling approach is grounded in client-centred and family systems philosophies. This means that as a counsellor, my role is not to assess or evaluate my clients. Rather, I believe that each person is the expert on their own experience and we all possess an amazing capacity for personal growth and change. Through empathy, active listening, and non-directive questioning, I will help you to harness your natural strengths and discover new ways to interact with yourself and others in order to improve your circumstances. I view the family system as the basis and context for our experiences during pre-conception, pregnancy, and postpartum. This means that in a counselling session we may talk about and examine how interactions between family members (for example, you and your partner or you and your parents) influence the behaviours of each individual member. The way you are coping and reacting to your current life events may be explained by patterns that have been in place between family members for quite some time, but these patterns may not be effective for you in your current situation. I can help you identify what these patterns may be and how you can make some changes that will benefit you and those close to you.
