EVPL « Burrard View Community Association

This Plan was developed through the combined efforts of the East Vancouver Port Lands Working Group. Past and present members including:

Burrardview Community Association
City of Vancouver
Port of Metro Vancouver
and others including: CP Railway, Cascadia Grain Terminal, Ocean Fisheries and ILWU Local 500

The EVPL Plan provides for regular meetings with BCA, City of Vancouver and Port Metro Vancouver to discuss ongoing Port land uses and new proposed developments. The sole purpose of the group is to review new development proposals with respect to whether these proposals fall within the guidelines set out in the EVPL Plan. With each new development proposal there is opportunity for the broader community to provide feedback. New proposals also have to meet other standards such as those set out by the GVRD, Department of Fisheries and Oceans and the Burrard Environment Review Committee (BERC). Any proposals that are not “green” uses will often undergo community impact studies.

Current BCA representatives to this group include B. Fousek, H. Mah, J. Hawthorne and E. Zoffmann.
