Many times, customers will call us and say, "We need help!  Our friend's computer crashed and they lost their data, and they had to spend a lot of money to retrieve it.  We don't want aq whole data backup system because we don't have that need, but we would like our current data saved or archieved so what happened to our friend doesn't happen to us!  Can you help?"  Yes, we can.

A hard drive is a paper-book sized device that is inside a computer.  This device stores all of the data on your computer, including the operating system, programs/applications, and your documents, music, photos, movies, and so on.  Hard drives will fail.  We have seen hard drives last over 10 years, and we have seen hard drives die within 5 weeks.  A hard drive is one of the devices in a computer that has its own internal moving parts, so the possibility of breakdown is higher compared to that of a specific part with no internal moving parts, like your RAM.  It's a terrible situation when a hard drive crashes, losing years of photos and documents.  Don't let that happen to you.

Here is how we can help.  If you don't want a whole backup system, we can instead do a "one-time archival" (backup) of your data to a USB flash drive.  By "data", we mean everything that is not replacable, such as music, photos, and documents.  (Programs, and operating system files will not be backed up, as these can be easily replaced by using your original CD/DVD, or by downloading the application from the Internet.)  We will give you the flash drive containing your data.  We recommend that you place the USB drive flash drive someplace secure from theft, moisture, and direct sunlight, such as a home safe or a safe-deposit box.  USB flash drives are very reliable, sturdy, and efficient.  However, any piece of equipment can fail at any given time, so we always recommend having a backup of data in a safe place.  (When you receive the flash drive from us, copy the contents to a folder on your computer.  Then, put the flash drive away in a safe place.)

For this service, we charge by the gigabyte (GB) of data that needs to be saved, with 0 to 16GB of data being the first level of data backup for this service.  The second level is 17 to 32GB.  Do you have more than 32GB of data?  We can backup any amount of data that you have, so if you think you have a lot (more than 32GB), tell us and we'll figure out a price quote for you, or we'll let you know if there is a cheaper alternative.

Don't let a hard drive crash and the resulting data loss ruin your day.  Contact us today to backup your important documents and photos so that they are not gone forever.

Be proactive about your data safety, and call us today.
