Kootenay Spoons is now making Birch salad bowls, handrubbed with 2 coatings of a walnut oil-beeswax finish that is 100% foodsafe.

These bowls are simple, functional kitchenware, made to use and last forever. Cost is based on diameter at the widest point, fractions of an inch measure down. For sizes greater than 18" please contact us for a price.

Birch bowls are a limited-quantity item, not available wholesale, as there are many stages of handwork in their production.

Moose Spoons - Handcrafted by Kootenay Spoons

Any hand can find a comfortable grip on the broad fully-sculpted handle of our Moose Spoons (actually a pair of forks). A single "spoon" is great for stiring frozen juice, or while cooking soups, sauces and beans. Our Moose Spoons are the most substantial long handled servers we've seen. Flat surface as Bear Claws but with 8" handles.

Spatula Sisters - Handcrafted by Kootenay Spoons

We have the Egg Spatula, Pie Spatula, and the Stir Fry Spatula that is also available as a leftie. They don't melt or split in a hot cast iron pan, nor will they scratch a non-stick pan. Our spatulas will last a lifetime.

Hair Claws - Handcrafted by Kootenay Spoons

If you have ever used a chopstick or a pencil to put your hair up, you'll know how to use ours. The curve of the pin and the friction of the wood really does keep your hair in place. It doesn't slide out or shake loose.

The Original Bear Claws - Handcrafted by Kootenay Spoons

These are the original Bear Claws, created by Michael Ferrier in 1985, out of his experience in Martial Arts: the closer you are to something, the more control you have. Created by Michael Ferrier, in 1985, they are still the highest quality and most esthetically pleasing and ergonomically correct, non-handled servers available. These salad & pasta hands will generate conversation at any dinner table.
