Vancouver Hockey School's power skating program is the most highly respected skating program in the lower mainland. With your input, our staff will prepare and plan the best set-up for your particular association. This may be weekly sessions for select levels of play or development for your entire association.

Through effective drill progression and instructor demonstration, the program is geared towards teaching gamesimulated hockey skating. Session drills focus on tying skating mechanics into game situations. Students are taught when and where to use certain skating techniques within the game.

This elite program breaks down crucial skating components such as:

  • Angle of inclination

  • Stride efficiency

  • Explosive starts

  • Counter balancing

  • Effective arm swing

  • Explosiveness with and without the puck

  • Net drives and puck protection

This program is for elite high performance players looking to develop with a select group of players of equal or higher skill levels. Players skate 2 times per week consisting of 1 afterschool and 1 morning practice slot (44 ice sessions). Are Derek or Yogi on the ice for all practice sessions.
