Since 1998, James Slater (RJS) has specialized in Stage 1 Preliminary Environmental Site Investigations (PSI’s) in Metro Vancouver.  As an independent sub-consultant, RJS has conducted more than 100 PSI’s.  These reports were accepted by the great majority of banking institutions in the Lower Mainland.  RJS now operates as a sole proprietorship, and is fully covered for Commercial General Liability, as well as Errors and Omissions.

RJS Stage 1 reports are conducted in accordance with the Environmental Management Act, Contaminated Sites Regulation, Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Standard Z768-01, and other pertinent legislation and standards within the Province of British Columbia.

A report usually takes two weeks (10 working days) to complete.  However, an interim report summarizing the findings of the PSI and its conclusions can be made available within one week (5 working days), at no extra cost. The Interim Report is usually sufficient for conditional approval by the lending institution.

RJS has also conducted many in the Greater Vancouver area.

In addition, RJS has participated in numerous Environmental Impact Studies for large-scale gold and diamond mining projects in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut, with emphasis on fisheries, wildlife, and vegetation.
