Japanese Acupuncture is a specialized style of acupuncture that developed in Japan after the introduction of the Chinese classical texts in the 5th century. The basic Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) theory and acupoints used in Traditional Chinese Medicine are the same, with minor differences.  Thinner needles and shallower insertions are used to result in a very relaxing gentle treatment - most patients don't even feel the needles. This makes it ideal for patients who have an aversion to needles, who are weak or have had an adverse reaction to other styles of acupuncture.
