The President of today's Non Profit Organization must wear many hats, but the greatest emphasis being on stewardship, as President's are elected for a term and are entrusted with both growing and protecting the organization. Successful Presidents develop the following capacities:
Board Manager: ensure that members understand their jobs and are able to fulfill those expectations
Recruiter: help recruit new members and develop succession plans for committee chairs.
Leader: Provide structure so that the work of the board and organization can be accomplished.
Meeting Manager: Preside over the meetings.
Superintendant: Ensure that management tools are developed and implemented.
Mentors: work with the committee chairs.
Supervisor: work closely with while not micromanaging the Managing Director.
Spokes Person: serve as a link to community.
