Marian is a highly respected caller of Contra, Square and English Country dancing. Known for her varied repertoire and articulate, friendly presentation, she is in high demand among contra dancing aficionados as well as newcomers to the activity. She would love to call for your regular series dances, weekends, or week long camps.

Workshops can be offered in contras, squares, singing squares, dance history, style and technique, Music 101 for dancers, calling for communities, Canadian dance traditions, and piano back-up.

Marian Rose's Community Dance Project - services

On Thursday evening, the school hosts a community family dance featuring a live band composed of local musicians, giving students an opportunity to share their new-found skills with their parents and families. Marian Rose’s dance residency, conducted in English or French, is an intensive whole-school experience in which the gym time for an entire week is devoted to learning a variety of folk dance styles.
