We are a general practice with lots of experience in cosmetics and trauma. We provide diagnosis, hygiene, digital x-rays, diagnostic laser, soft tissue laser, bleaching, “white fillings”, root canals, inlays, onlays, veneers, crowns, bridges, dentures and partials.

A good result comes from careful planning and case selection. We like to do wax ups of each case and mock ups to see what the finished case may look like. It is better to have a good idea of what is acceptable to both the dentist and the patient before any teeth are permanently altered.

White Fillings

We no longer use dental amalgam and we are happy to discuss replacement. Well done silver fillings are an excellent choice, but do not need replacement if they are sound. Most people today do not want silver fillings and opt for composites which are white. They are light cured plastics with a complicated chemistry and will not last as long.

Crowns are full coverage restorations for teeth that can no longer hold a simple filling. They can be made of porcelain, gold or a combination of both. Gold is an excellent choice for back teeth that bear a heavy load. Porcelain crowns for front teeth can be made to appear like natural teeth.

Inlays and Onlays

Pocelain inlays can be made in a dental laboratory and are more expensive than simple white fillings. If well done and cared for they can last longer. Large white fillings are doomed to fail and a laboratory made onlay may be a good choice. If not a crown is needed.

Veneers are thin porcelain “covers” for front teeth. They require less tooth reduction than a crown and can be made to dramatically improve a smile with careful planning and experience.
