RIM’s upcoming BBX-powered device, possibly named the Colt, London and hopefully not the “Surfboard”, is expected to be released early 2012. These new devices will be part of their 2012 lineup and according to VP of Industrial Design, Todd Wood, are “charming, whimsical and fun”.

Two new BlackBerry smartphones have been officially announced today – the BlackBerry Bold 9790 and BlackBerry Curve 9380. These BlackBerry 7 OS devices were both heavily leaked online over the past few weeks and will be “available from various carriers around the world over the coming weeks”.

If you have the BlackBerry Bold 9900 and Curve 9360 you might receive the new “BlackBerry Tag” that RIM revealed today. At the GITEX conference in Dubai, co-CEO Jim Balsillie, announced this new “Tag” feature will be available in the next BlackBerry 7 OS update..

IOS 5 was unveiled today and it did come with a bunch of great additions: iMessage will take on BBM, editing your photos from your iPhone, notifications, Newsstand, wireless syncing and updates, reminders plus a deeper integration with Twitter. This update brings the promised fixes to the location tracking issues that surfaced a couple weeks ago. App is currently available for iPhone and Android users for free.
