UBC Alumni Wine « UBC Alumni Affairs

For all you Bacchus laureates out there, the UBC Alumni Association is launching some uniquely packaged and delicious wine to help celebrate graduation, a reunion, or any other special occasion. The UBC-inspired labels will bring back fond memories while you create some new ones with your friends and fellow alumni.

Our partner in wine is Bounty Cellars in Kelowna, BC. This winery selects the best grapes, juice and wine from throughout the Pacific Northwest to produce a top quality product. In fact, Bounty Cellars 2007 Pinot Blanc has just been awarded a Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Excellence for BC wines.

Choose from Pinot Blanc and Merlot – or save yourself a difficult decision and buy them both. Raise a glass, and raise some funds at the same time. Proceeds will support UBC alumni programming and events.

The Dean’s List

2010 Pinot Blanc

750 ml • 13.7% alc./vol.

This classic Pinot Blanc impresses with bright green apple flavours and the aroma of ripe pears. It is adaptable enough to pair with a variety of dishes or is great on its own on the patio. Whether or not you made the dean’s list at UBC, buying this British Columbia wine is a smart move.

Blended and bottled in Canada with domestic grapes • Mélangé au Canada avec des raisins domestiques.

Wrecked Beach Merlot

2008 Merlot

750 ml • 13.4% alc./vol.

With a flavour profile similar to the Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot tends to be slightly more herbaceous in both aroma and taste. The 2008 Merlot exhibits black cherry, currants and very subtle plum flavours on the finish. Not overly tannic in character, this wine is easily drunk on its own or as the perfect accompaniment for casual outdoor dining.

Blended and bottled in Canada with domestic and imported grapes • Mélangé au Canada avec des raisins domestiques et importés.
