PORCELAIN FUSED TO METAL

INDICATIONS:
  • Single unit full coverage porcelain fused to metal crowns
  • Multiple unit restoration
  • Porcelain Butt Margins

ADVANTAGES:

  • d.SIGN is a fluorapatite leucite glass-ceramic
  • Was developed with properties of natural teeth
  • Exceptional optical properties
  • Increased brightness and brilliance
  • Enhanced stability of shade
  • True-to-nature fluorescence
  • Contains fluoride ions that provide a very high chemical resistance
  • Excellent polishability
  • Limited abrasion to opposing natural tooth structure
  • Can be used with high gold alloys, high palladium alloys, gold-reduced alloys, and base metal alloys

RECOMMENDATIONS:

  • Can use any standard cementation material
  • manufacturer recommend Hybrid ionomer and glass ionomer because they offer low expansion, continuous fluoride release, and minimum solubility

CERAMIC RESTORATIONS - PRESSABLES

INDICATIONS:

  • Single unit full coverage crowns
  • Veneers
  • Inlays
  • Onlays

ADVANTAGES:

  • Esthetic metal free alternative
  • Have the option of using cut-back and layering or staining technique
  • Perfect esthetics due to translucent, leucite-reinforced ceramic
  • Extremely accurate fit
  • Abrasion resistance similar to natural enamel
  • High standard of clinical results for the clinician and patient
  • With IPS Empress Esthetic, the crystalline structure and optimized ceramics enables the recreation of optical properties that natural teeth exhibit
  • With the cut-back and layer technique, the mammelon effect is mimicked and translucency in the incisal third is increased

RECOMMENDATIONS:

  • The minimum thickness of an Empress restoration is 0.7 mm.  Please keep in mind that for optimum esthetics, 1.0-2.0 mm reduction is required.
  • A stump shade is required.  This enables the accurate choice of pressable ingot, whether more opaque to provide masking or more translucent.  This prevents the appearance of an incorrect shade match or the showing through of the underlying tooth structure. Ivoclar Vivadent manufactures a Stumpf material shade guide.
  • IPS Empress and IPS Empress Esthetic restorations must be cemented by bonding.  Preparation must be dry, uncontaminated, and properly etched.  Many times cracks and restorations coming off are a result of bonding failure, not the material
  • Not recommended for patients with bruxism

INDICATIONS:

  • Single unit full coverage crowns
  • Three unit bridges
  • Maryland bridges

ADVANTAGES:

  • Esthetic metal free alternative
  • Is a combination of a pressable coping comprised of lithium disilicate crystals with a layered ceramic
  • The ceramic contains fluorapitite crystals, which are found in natural teeth and influence the translucency, brightness and light scattering ability
  • Abrasion resistance like that of natural teeth
  • High mechanical strength
  • Superior fracture toughness
  • Excellent translucency, opalescence and fluorescence
  • Low bacterial adhesion
  • Can be bonded or conventionally cemented

RECOMMENDATIONS:

  • The minimum thickness of an Eris restoration is 0.5 mm.  The maximum thickness of layering porcelain is 1.5 mm.  Please keep in mind that for optimum esthetics, 1.0-2.0 mm reduction is required.
  • For a conventional and Maryland bridge, the connectors must be 4mm x 4mm
  • A stump shade is required.  This enables the accurate choice of pressable ingot, whether more opaque to provide masking or more translucent.  This prevents the appearance of an incorrect shade match or the showing through of the underlying tooth structure. Ivoclar Vivadent manufactures a Stump material shade guide.
  • Cementation is done by bonding or conventional cement

CERAMIC RESTORATIONS - ZIRCONIA

PRODUCT:

INDICATIONS:

  • Single unit crowns
  • Multiple unit bridges
  • Splinted teeth
  • Single unit implants
  • Multiple unit implants

ADVANTAGES:

  • Is the future of dental restorations
  • The copings and frameworks are made by new CAD/CAM processing technologies and milled from zirconia material
  • Zirconia is a high strength ceramic material which allows for metal free, esthetic multiple unit restorations that can be used in the anterior as well as in the posterior
  • Have the option of layering porcelain to zirconia framework, or pressing to zirconia framework (with the further option of cut-back and layering or staining techniques)
  • Exceptional fit, maximum strength and durability due to CAD/CAM technology
  • CZR Porcelain has a fine particle size which allows for the opalescence seen in the natural tooth and minimal wear in the mouth
  • Outstanding resistance to fractures and chipping
  • Easily glazed and polishable surface is highly resistant to plaque deposits
  • Enhanced esthetics

RECOMMENDATIONS:

  • Can be cemented by bonding or conventional cement

INDIRECT COMPOSITE RESTORATIONS

INDICATIONS:

  • Inlays
  • Onlays
  • Single unit crowns
  • Bridges with metal substructure
  • Implants with metal substructure

ADVANTAGES:

  • Highly fracture resistant
  • Shock- absorbent with ideal rebounding characteristics
  • Maintains natural gloss and translucency for years
  • Non-porous, biocompatible surface
  • Easy chairside adjusting and polishability
  • Great alternative to all ceramic inlays/onlays in situations where occlusal clearance is limited, bruxism is evident, or conservative tooth reduction

RECOMMENDATIONS:

  • Maintain an even reduction of tooth
  • Strength and opacity are increased with more tooth reduction
  • If amalgam staining or a dark stump color is present, note it on the prescription and an opaceous layer of composite can be used in the restoration
  • Cementation must be done by bonding

DENTAL IMPLANTS

PRODUCT:

We are experienced with numerous types of implants, including

by ITI Dental Implant System and Branemark by

INDICATIONS:

  • Single tooth implant replacement
  • Implant supported bridge
  • Full mouth implant reconstruction
  • Full or partial denture replacement

ADVANTAGES:

  • Implants are a reliable method to replace missing teeth
  • Implant supported systems duplicate natural teeth in form, function, stability, and beauty
  • Single tooth replacement occurs without traditional bridge therapy
  • Implant supported bridge replaces teeth without support from adjacent natural teeth and bone is better preserved
  • Elimination of the problem denture
  • All-ceramic copings are available to enhance esthetics

DIAGNOSTIC WAX-UPS

INDICATIONS:

  • Anterior esthetic cases
  • Missing teeth replacement
  • Full mouth reconstruction

ADVANTAGES:

  • Provides a visual tool to demonstrate final results to the clinician and patient
  • Can aid the clinician with teeth preparation and amount of reduction
  • Provides a template for the final restorations
  • Can be used to create outstanding temporaries
  • Function, cuspid rise, and anterior guidance can be evaluated
  • Enables patients to evaluate shape of teeth and communicate their wishes of the final result
  • Patients are more likely to accept treatment when presented with Diagnostic wax-ups

GOLD RESTORATIONS INLAY/OUTLAY

PRODUCT:  We use a variety of high quality gold alloys and cast posts

INDICATIONS:

  • Single unit full coverage crown
  • Multiple unit full coverage
  • Cast Post
  • Inlay
  • Onlay

ADVANTAGES:

  • Accura’s founder has previous experience with the Dr. Richard V. Tucker Study Clubs, and is familiar with its methods
  • Gold is extremely long-lasting, inert, biocompatible, and highly durable
  • It will not tarnish, decompose, or cause tooth discoloration
  • It’s wearability is comparable to that of the opposing teeth
  • Excellent polishability
  • Conservative preparations
  • Natural morphology can be replicated
  • Margins can be burnished upon cementation to provide exceptional fit
